This is an issue as well. I am interested in trying the hair on my various characters but there's a relatively low chance that it will look good on them, and it's not a chance I'm willing to pay 12 million gil just for curiosity.

Tell me about it. I ended up buying the new hairstyle on the market and it turns out it looks really bad on my character. In the end I've wasted a lot of time and money orz
A feature that lets us preview hairstyles we don't own yet would have been a lifesaver... ;__;
