The Thravnair dungeon being a settlement razed by the second coming of the Final Days further makes me think we're going there early on, as it gives a bigger sense of urgency if we experience the destruction first-hand (And I kind of doubt things are going to get too bad by the end of 5.5)
I have a feeling we won't have to worry much about Garlean presence in 6.0 considering Garlemald is basically in ruins now. If anything we may mostly be going through refugee camps and whatever is left of towns on our way to the Garlean Empire Capital city thus seeing a movement of Garlean citizens and former prisoners moving out of Garlean Empire since there is hardly anything left of it and seeking to flee from the Garlean Empire Captial since it is probably the most infested with Final Days horrors.

Along with maybe dealing with a few stubbern Garlean Nobles.

I think if we encounter any Garlean military, they are likely to be a tempered sort, not entirely themselves. Probably surrounded by dead Garleans who could resist.

That and maybe a few factions still fighting to claim lands as their own among the chaos that is happening.

We have seen for ourselves that the Garlean Empire struggles with nobility fighting among themselves to gain power like any other civilization.

Though we should probably expect a few Garlean Nobles that are reasonable to survived as well to be our allies. After all not all of them are evil and just believe in different means to bring peace to the world like Gaius and Gabranth.

It has always been different belief on who and how things should be handled in society that has put good people against each other with the bad people fighting along side them after all. However, with Garlemald literally gone now, there is probably only very few things the good Garlean nobles can do other than just try to keep the survivors safe and save what they can.

Heck, depending on how Resistance story ends, we may even get Gabranth as a ally in 6.0 storyline even if it is a cameo moment but that depends on his fate at the end of resistance storyline. He is after all one of the more reasonable people that use to serve the Garlean Empire but as of now difference in belief on how things should be handled and who should be in charge are putting him against us in Resistance storyline.

I'm more of the mind that there will be Fandaniel spawned towers exerting supernatural force on them, and so we're not really going to meet many coherent Garleans that we haven't already.

I'm kind of curious if Nerva is going to play into 6.0 somehow or if Fandaniel will have finished using him by the time 5.5 is over.

There is a distinctly Garlean-looking dungeon that was previewed so I feel like they're going to be a thorn in our side at some point, though whether they're coherent or just tempered thralls to whatever force is powering the towers is anyone's guess.

I lowkey want to explore the rest of Hingashi and Radz-at-Han (being very close allies to Garlamald) but then again their is a giant dust cloud where ilsabard is so perhaps not...

Oh, I hope it's the former. Otherwise all he'll have been is a name, and that's a bit disappointing to me.

Perhaps the new storyline in 6.1 will start with Nerva taking the center stage as a character, assuming Nerva isn't killed off in 6.0.

Garlemald after 6.0 will be an interesting story to tell. Having them be completely blown up and if there's enough of them left to still rebuild, how will they react to the fact their empire fell apart by those they thought would lead them (those fighting the civil war, Zenos, "Brutus" house) and being saved by the "savages" they sought to conquer (or the for the layman, "enlighten").

What will come after if there's a "Garlean Restoration" in the future? Will they learn the dark history of their empire, that their founder lied and what they understood about eikons was to purposefully mislead them as a perfect puppet nation or will those in high places not take well to thwarted ambition and start up their conquering engine again to reclaim their old glory?

Considering Pandaemonium maybe located in Garlemald, we may get a glimps of what Garlean Empire becomes through the raid storyline by interacting with possible new garlean characters in 6.X. Not to mention the other possible side stories that may happen focused on Garlemald.
