Do you believe that Squeenix devs go into their disease ridden offices to game-dev in hazmat suits? I don't understand this line of reasoning.

The pandemic has been going on for an entire year if not longer in some places, we are no longer in the dark about the severity of covid, nor are we lacking in ways to stay safe.

Again I implore you to look at how other game companies have been handling the exact same problem, WoW for example, the biggest MMO in the industry at the moment, has been doing just fine, they delayed their expansion by a few months due to covid, but as a whole their deliverables have always been appropriate and have met quantity expectations, the new expansion is not nearly as skeletal as Shadowbringers has been, quality withstanding.

The reason this issue reflects so poorly on xiv devs and why people aren't as understanding is because this entire expansion has been riddled with content issues even before covid came into the forefront. I would advise looking at it from a consumer point of view; you are still expected to pay full price but in return you get arguably a lot less than previous expansions with an arguably worse quality attached. That should be reason enough to be upset and I don't approve of things like "entitlement" being thrown around when it is a service that is paid for. I respect the devs and encourage others to do the same, but they are not my friends and if they expect a monthly payment I expect a sufficient amount of content in return.

The lack of overall faith in the dev team is not the result of people being ungrateful, but the result of the dev team just ruining their track record by consistently failing to deliver on things they should.
