Teleport Trade Cancels Need to Stop

I know my solution is just a bandaid sadly. It’s all you can do now or report them as others have said. I have been playing this game since the very beginning and have never had this happen to me as harassment. Just a few friends messing around at times but never more then that. Some people must really not have anything better to do than to stalk others. Wow.

people dont "follow" me around. everyone can come up to you and trade with you then cancel the trade and bug off before you can find them while they cancel your teleport. As far as I knew there removed the ablitily to trade someone while teleport ages ago but i guess not.

I have had this happen to me a few times in small areas where many players tend to cluster. Like at tomestone vendors or at the Mini Cactpot npc. It's always been some random stranger who thought it would be hilarious to troll me.

I haven't seen this happen since ARR, but I guess trolling is something that never really goes away. I think it's stupid to have opening a trade cancel a teleportation. It should not, and I think the trade prompt should be cancelled upon exiting the zone.

There's less than a second window to trade cancel someone. It's when the fading out part of the animation goes through before the gil is accepted. I threaten my fiance/friends with it sometimes, but I almost never do it unless it was one time I tried to kill a friend who was gathering with monsters around. But to be fair she bet I couldn't get her killed, and she sadly was right

Edit: Otherwise the original trading could interrupt anyone during any part of the animation. All they'd have to do is add a few seconds to the trade invuln window and it'd be fixed. Like 'no trading until loaded in new area' type thing.

People will always be trolls. There is a small delay between cast finishing and the actual teleporting itself where you can interrupt someone. Just report them and move on.

That said - if somebody does interrupt you - report them. Not only they will get their deserved strike or ban - reports, especially when they happen often for the same issue, are one of the main ways to tell DevTeam that something is 100% wrong. Let's get real here - EN Forum General Discussions section is a huge mess of spamming same topic new threads every day, and unless your thread gathers some considerable amount of upvotes and comments - they simply won't notice it in this horrendous landfill where 85% of the threads go into oblivion after being up for 1 day.

Interrupting somebody's teleport with trade is almost an exploit, so if reported enough - they should pay their attention to the issue, with either fixing it (though I suspect it works as intended right now) or making it an officially reportable harassment (which is it already I believe, but formal warning can make trolls reconsider their actions if they don't want to get permabanned).

I have to wonder why you specifically are getting so many trades canceling teleports that you're now making a thread asking for this to be addressed...

Square-Enix ... Yoshi-P ... When in the world is this going to get removed? I'm tried of people Trading me while I am teleporting to another area in game which in turn cancels the teleport...
Asking them not to do it, doesn't work.

I though this was removed during a patch ages ago... I cant even teleport to my PHousing without getting abuse with trades while teleporting.

I've never had this happen to me.

How do you run into this situation this often?
I only ever get interrupted or do that myself to my friends that I know will laugh it off.

If these people don't stop even when you ask them then you definitely should report them because I imagine you're not the only one being bothered by these guys. And if you all report them they'll get a warning and stop or face more serious consequences for harassing.

Yeah, this. I've had FC mates goof off with me by trading me as I try to teleport, but it's not something that happens often.

A tiny part of me would want to do it again if I knew it would make someone flip out, though.
