Cutscene ends, returning to the Warrior of Light fishing on a boat. The camera pans out to reveal the boat is in a lake right in the middle of the "New World" continent.

Zenos never appealed to me as an archenemy, so I like the idea that my character just ignores him or is extremely exasperated when they have no other option but to deal with them.

Zenos: FINALLY! Our reunion is complete! COME, my one-true-friend, let us meet in glorious combat! Let our blades clashing act as our embrace!

While I liked Zenos as a personal antagonist, he's kinda worn out his welcome; honestly, I'd be happiest if the PC responded to him like Hashirama does when Madara jumps onto the scene (given they're pretty similar IMO, it'd be fitting).

Zenos: Ahh, my friend, my enemy. You've no idea how long I've waited for this moment!

PC: *points at him* I'll deal with you later!

I'm honestly expecting the moon to just be the obligatory barren final zone like Azys Lla, the Lochs, and the Tempest before it.

There's a lot of ground to cover between Thravnair and Garlemald, after all.

I'm rather curious about the significance of the very Mhachi-like architecture in the "remodeled" royal palace, though.

I could see Thavnair being the first zone as our entry into Ilsabard. With the moon as the last zone and Garlemald presumably the one right before it, I'd wager that the remaining three zones will be us climbing north from Thavnair to Garlemald.
Maybe we'll see Corvos.

Sharlayan doesn't seem to fit here which is surprising because I really thought they were leaning heavily into it in recent patches.

It's still possible it could be our new major city.

I don't think going to the moon will be a trivial task (Unless Fandaniel wants us to go there for some reason), and they're probably the best qualified to help with that.

I think the inclusion of the Lunar Whale mount as a Fanfest reward basically ensures that the full sized version will be our way to reach the moon, and it doesn't look Sharlayan at all. Though they could easily be brought in to fix it up and make it useable, I suppose.

In regards to the concerns over the moon being an empty zone, I wouldn't be surprised if we go to a big crystalline cavern network under its surface like in FF4.
