At first I kind of rolled my eyes at this thread thinking "This again?" because I'm tired and I feel like we've been over this a million times since launch and they just don't seem to give a damn at all, but you're absolutely right.

It doesn't matter how many times anyone says "You knew this is what you signed up for" because I don't think anyone is genuinely surprised at this point, but it's still complete garbage and worth complaining about as long and as often as it takes for them to do something about it.

I don't recall ever signing up for being forgotten.

I'm okay with having less head options. It takes time to redesign things. I get it. I'm not okay with watching everyone else consistently get nice goodies for their heads while the viera and hrothgar are like "Look it's been well over a year now...can we get a racial hat at least? One new hairstyle? No? Okay how about making us feel more included in cosmetic rew- oh I see you have decided to make us even less included."

With covid throwing a difficult barrier in development we are getting events that are fused into one. Okay, I can deal with that but the rewards then really need to count...and well having one of the two things you can get being unusable by two races is the opposite of that. It's not as if hats are particularly associated with either event. Anything aside from a hat or hairstyle would have worked as a reward just fine. But no lets rub it into players' faces that they're playing a limited race.

I don't think they need to stop giving hats for events necessarily (even though this one is just a cheaply made re-skin I don't think anyone is particularly excited about, Viera/Hrothgar or not) because I did know this was a possibility, but at some point something's gotta give. You either support all races you put in the game or maybe you do need to reconsider the rewards after all, even for a merged COVID-affected event this is anemic.

I completely forgot a new hairstyle was added in this patch, that's the seventh hairstyle added since 5.0 for any other race, while Hroths and Viera's "exclusive hairstyle" hasn't even been mentioned. Covid aside, they had 8 months yet there isn't even concept art floating around. This is just outright neglect, plain and simple.

While I understand past hairstyles, it makes no sense to me as they have released new ones that they wouldn't work them to fit the heads of Viera and Hrothgar. Doesn't make much sense to me. Never imagined almost 2 years later we wouldn't have anything added hairstyle-wise.

The only exception I think should be the exclusive hairstyles from the online store, since I paid money to use them and am now locked out of it on these races. My main is a Viera, so don’t let my avatar fool anyone!

Covid isn't really an excuse for deliberately choosing something you know very well that two races cannot use. The hat is just a rehash of an already existing hat...but they could have done that with literally any existing item in the game. But they chose a hat -_-

The covid part was more to explain why we are getting two-seasonal-events-in-one and only getting the cap and a furniture piece (both of which are just rehashed items we already have).
I'm surprised they didn't learn from the last SB Valentione's Day event they had (when they were working of ShB), which had a CUL knife and DRK sword as rewards and was met with negative responses (granted, that also had three new furnishing). Both Valentione's and Little Ladies' Day are usually nice events for glamour and/or furniture pieces, even during expansion crunch time (that same year, we got the Flower Crowns from Little Ladies' Day).
I don't think rehashing items or having a small amount of rewards is bad but they really should of taken the fact 2 of the playable races can't wear what is looking like the main prize for the event into consideration.

i wasn’t terribly thrilled with the combined “Making it Rain” and “All Saint’s Wake” “event”, and i’m honestly not very thrilled with this one either. blaming covid for the seasonal events feels like a cop out at this point, we’re a year into the pandemic and they’ve already had plenty of time to adjust to things. and a mog cap? we already have, like, 2 different kinds of mog caps in the game. not to mention people who play viera and don’t own a house get nothing out of this combined event.

I was finally 100% satisfied with how my character looked for once but I'm fed up with us getting left out every time some cool new hats/helmets or hairstyles come out.

My exact feelings with my viera preset. They just continue releasing new items, event items, hairs, that viera - which is not even an unpopular race - cannot use. Viera/hrothgar receive almost no support.

I don't think they should stop giving hats either. Just don't have the only item of clothing be a hat two races cannot wear. For example the summer event, couldn't wear the hats again but we still got glam pieces for three or four other slots. We could still enjoy glamming into event gear. This time we're being entirely deprived of that experience. That is far from okay.

I'm not complaining about there being a rehash or saying covid isn't an excuse for some problems. What I am saying is that by choosing to rehash an already existing piece of gear they're taking something that has already been created and are merely tweaking it, and that nothing about this decision explains why it had to be a hat two races cannot wear. I'm fine with events being fused into one. I'm not fine with being left out of the fun of having a new glam.

They could have chosen a different type of headgear that works for everyone or just alter a different slot like a chest piece instead. It absolutely did not have to be THAT hat or even a hat. If they really really really wanted to give us headgear why not some heart shaped sunglasses instead? Did it have to be a hat? No.

Completely agree that the Chef's Knife should have given SE some clues as to how this particular hat reward would be received. But SE have had ample feedback about the whole new races and head options issue and it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. We need something to look forward to. Even if it's just a "we can't show you anything yet but something is coming in 6.0". For so long we have been feeling forgotten and this event is starting to make it look like that is exactly the case.
