One of our regulars always turns off regen...
I wonder if they got her!

Or it could be that DRK was healed up to 99.99% + shields, giving an illusion that they're at full health. I had this happened several times and it's frustrating as hell.So I found out the fun way that Walking Dead level up bug is still a thing.
Qitana Ravel, me on SCH. Rest of party is DRK SAM DNC. The usual mass pulls and slaughter happen, first boss goes down without a hitch. Tank is rotating cooldowns though since they're 76, and I'm a slight bit rusty with SCH, I've been juggling dpsing and healing fairly well for being 76 myself.
Queue getting to the second mass pull before the boss, DRK pops Living dead and being the opportunistic healer I am, I let it pop and grant WD status. I start spam healing, and suddenly he hit 100%...then keeled over dead.
He had leveled up during that pull, had WD active, and the game said 'F*ck it, you die.' Thanks game. The tank and I were wondering what the actual heck happened until I asked a friend on discord, who then explained it to me that it's still 'that thing that will kick you in the balls.'
I felt so bad. I shouldn't have let Walking Dead activate. The pull was cleared, but still.
Nowadays I almost always let a DRK dies from LD as a SCH then rez them after while trying to sustain the remaining as the rez animation plays because I need to have at least 3 AF & Recitation available at the moment of activation just to heal them out of LD. Something that's not going to be happening most of time in dungeons pulls.
I agree that the best way to heal a DRK out of LD is... simply guarantees to not let them use it. >.>
But you click off Regen for entirely different reason (mob aggro issue), not because you want them to -just- heal and heal alone, didn't you?At least that's what I'm drawing from your stories so far.

Well, more like basic competence, in normal content, unless people are new players or new to their jobs.
Yeah, I click it off a lot just because. It can be annoying on occasion while pulling. I main white mage, and I do DPS, it would be nonsensical for me to suggest in-game for a healer not to DPS. For that matter, that whole quote could get a person banned, no way! I don't know any other regular here (or maybe I have really been skimming too much) that clicks off regen like me. I do think he was just joking though!![]()
WHM | RDM | DNC
The drk was sitting under 30% when he dinged while I was trying to spam shields+healing. My other cooldowns were on cooldown and my fae pact had been used up to where it wouldn't have helped. I popped Dissi a bit too soon on that pull to sustain him.
I still feel bad.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
I always apologize profusely if I fatfinger a regen between pulls. I'm so sorry please don't think I'm an egg!!!!Yeah, I click it off a lot just because. It can be annoying on occasion while pulling. I actually have a question related to Regen. I've only just recently started healing myself, but when you tank, and a Regen still has enough time to last into the next pull, would you be better clicking it off or being especially ready to take all the enmity back? I assume the latter? (Though I suppose if you know the healer personally it might be less chaotic to just tell them to be ready to slap on a fresh one for every pull.)
Also, related to clicking things off, and while not duty finder it still relates to random people in an instance: Friend and I were doing EurekaPoggersPagos. We actually had no idea that you could click off buffs, and since our bunnies were pointing us straight past mobs far beyond our level, we decided to let them expire. Turns out that if there are bunnies active, the FATE won't start up again.
Instead of telling us this or asking us about it, one player got mad and just brought a whole bunch of enemies to us and yelled at us to "kill our bunnies". We, of course, had absolutely no idea what they were on about and just ran away. The bunnies stayed on until they expired.
In the future, it happened again, and a much kinder player politely informed the instance that you could click them off. We thanked this person and did so.
If the healer is smart, if they get regen aggro they'll bring it back to the tank. Assuming the tank is on top of things, they'll grab aggro right back, unless they're an egotistical madlad.I actually have a question related to Regen. I got an egotistical madlad in my last expert run. Gauntlet with GNB AST and RDM along with me on my BLM. First pull starts normal. Tank dies, aggro goes mostly to me. I pop my shield, and start finishing off enemies so that if we're doing this again itll be a pull we cant fail. I fall after tanking for quite awhile, the healer gets me right back up, and within a rotation we've finished the fight. So now i look to see what happened. The tank refused a res and ran back so he could complain about the healer - while the rest of us were still fighting. Healer apologizes, says theyre having controller issues. Tank does a big dramatic no big pulls announcement. We proceed through the next segment on small pulls. Healer seems to have his stuff figured out. Boss? No issues. Second section(il mheg) the RDM says as much(healer seems to have fixed it, why not big pulls?). Tank ignores. He seems to have stopped using most of his defensive skills(i do not know if he was using them from the start), he isnt interrupting casts(this bothers me SO much as a class that is incapable of doing so), and he's even positioning these single pulls in such a way that usually one mob will be outside of AoE range. He has also stopped rolling on loot, almost as if he thinks we're gonna kick him. The last pull in this section(with titanias adds helping) the RDM and AST go and fetch the second pack so we can get them all at once. The tank switches to his single target combo to avoid aggro(which goes to me of course), and he even loses control of the 3 of them he had(or did he shirk me because he thought i pulled them? dude, im the one standing here throwing flares around, or did you not even notice that those never stopped?). Whatever. Pop shield, drop mobs, move on. The healer had no trouble keeping me up, so is the tank ready to concede and do the normal last pull? We kill the boss and... no. Still single pulling. We finish the dungeon and he nopes out instantly. RDM complains about him a bit, we all leave. I got 2 comms.
So GNB from leviathan, this is to you: Tank bro. Get over yourself. Yeah, that first pull was a bit of a mess. I should know, because i died as many times as you did. Yours was the healers fault(maybe a little your own? i wasnt watching your buff window because i didnt think i needed to), mine was your fault entirely since you declined the res and i was tanking for much longer then need be. The issue was fixed and it should have been obvious to you by the halfway point. You actively made everything worse with your poor decisions/poor play. Be better.
