Personally I put up the stuff my retainers get back to me at a normal price (and never, ever below 5000 gil), and the stuff I craft is out there at normal prices. With this strategy, and 5x9 retainers out on quick explorations, I make over 1 million a day, even with the bots, AND, not to forget, players who think it's a good idea to dump the prices and utterly destroying the market. You are actually worse than the bots, because they might flood the market, but you are the ones that destroys it.

Cause and effect man. I only ran 8 retainers and could not afford to just post and forget on 45 retainers. Dumping cheap is proven strategy to make gil fast. It only effects a small part of the market short term. Anyway, it's either that or not selling anything cos of the scripted bots. When I used to dump 100 items for cheap they sold within a few hours max. Does not destroy anything and only effected a few items. Market resets after the dump. I made an easy million or two and business as usual after that. Everyone wins (especially me).

Dude, those Louisoix bots are also on Moogle. I see them in groups..underground..killing enemies ON the ground. SE surely must be able to monitor this. It's obvious they don't care. Same shit in FFXI man. FFXI was/is a bot fest. SE cares only about their RP fantasy, not any market/economy/crafters. How much proof does everyone need SE doesn't care?" SE reminds me of that Iraqi general claiming there were no Americans in Baghdad in 2003 because the Iraqi army crushed them all....Yeah...no..sorry SE.

And when everyone thinks like that? Have you bothered comparing now and then prices on some of the items? Take 2 of the absolute worst, Alexander Miniature and Stuffed Alpha. They used to sell for 100K and above. These days you get them so cheap it's actually way better to de-synthesize them. All because everyone thinks 200 gil is better than nothing.- Well, it isn't, it destroys the market, and it's way better, for everyone to vendor them, to show SE that this isn't the way to do things. I post them for 5k or de-synthesize. Hell, there's even things selling on the MB that will fetch much higher prices if you vendor them, especially different parts of houses. I think the reason I earn as much as I do, in this crappy market, is because I take fair prices, and sooner or later that item will be the cheapest to buy. The market has gotten back, a little, and some items actually sell pretty well, at almost old prices.

How is it bad that the market has been flooded, and cracked?

    Yes.
I understand how these things are bad in the real world, but... I'll be blunt... I can be a little dense.
I honestly do not understand how a crashed market in 14 is an objectively bad thing.

I think for the average person who is crafting, it is bad because of a couple of factors.
    1. to craft the top gear pentamelding is almost a must have. depending on rng this is usually quite a few million if you need to buy the materia
    2. if you plan on selling anything, to beat the bots you need to stand on the market all day

so, selling things for higher means you recoup the money spent on materia or crafting materials faster. some are just after mounds of gil as Joy thinks, but I think most think first about making back what they spent initially. for them, the lower the prices, the longer it takes obviously. if you get tons of materia or crafting materials free, its no big what the market price is as its all pure profit. most actual non bot crafters though, arent at that stage.

so, with the time investment needed to sell before the bots (if they are that serious about selling), the cost to craft end level gear materia wise, a crashed market can be.. daunting. the "I spent 11 million stuffing in matera and I can only get 53k per thing I am selling???" would be a bit crushing

thats my thoughts on why it could be bad anyway for average crafters
