Gold Selling Spams

I have been playing this game for more than 2 month now, but everytime I want to enjoy some other player's performance at Limsa, I get this spam of 5gold site, it has been really annoying and my blacklist is filling up with those spam bots. Why didn't the game just ban all things related to that site, really I looked up this issue and I can find posts date back to 2016.

I'm not sure why they didn't just make the "report RMT" function temporarily blacklist anyone you use it on.

Pretty much everything related to RMT or cheating is handled poorly at best overall.

Yeah. They should take a page from WoW here. In WoW reporting someone for RMT puts them on a temporary blacklist and also removes anything they've said from your chat log.

There is a plugin which automatically filters the bot messages. I'm not posting a link since it's not exactly "supported officially".

Im sure this dates back to 2.0. Those bots are annoying but its easy to avoid if you want to by not going to the starting cities. Thats where they live and die at.

Step one: Change /say to only have a very short reach when on trial account. If you're not within 10 meters of someone, you can't be heard.

Step two: ban all other forms of communication from trial accounts.

Step three: Add in filters to block the stuff they say.

That would stop a lot of this! It's sad that there is zero effort to stop these people from spamming.

Step two wouldn't affect the RMTers in any way but would make trial players kind of hate the experience.
