It's just remnants of an old system they had slowly deleted out of the game, hence when they added the one-hand to two-hand trade offers in Mor Dhona.

I'd say yes because I love the concept of using a shield as a caster...but there's not a single wand or non-tank-exclusive shield I like so...

Nah man, just hit up the old vendors in Mor Dhona and get a taste of what we're all missing. That's probably the best example as many of those have single and double handed variants.

I assume you're referring to the old FFXIII-event gear - alas those were added way before glamour was actually added to the game and back when single-handed weapons were still a viable option for CNJ/WHM and THM/BLM players - the FFXIII event first ran back in 2013 (the clue is the FFXIII weapons are actually level 13 gear and not level 1 like glam gear usually is, and has probably the best stats for any weapon at that time in the game, where as glamour gear has not stats at all usually).

Unfortunately it doesn't seem SE are that interested in updating the FFXIII mage weapons to be double handed, as that would require them having to model them from scratch (you can't just hold the single handed weapon as a double handed one, they're too small and the wrong shape). There is no actual easy fix to this sadly.

Which sucks big time because those two weapons are STILL available to be purchased in the Mogstation, and they look very unique on top of that.

Not gonna lie, a few years ago, when I was just a sprout, I was looking through the Mogstation to find a couple of items to glam while leveling to look marginally good, and bought the CNJ weapon. I actually saw the disclaimer that it wouldn't work for 2h weapons as a glamour, but it didn't cross my mind that White Mages didn't have 1h options available anymore past level 50.

I wish they would word that disclaimer a bit better, or optimally, just create a 2h version for those two weapons altogether, given their unique situation.

Honestly, the FFXIII crossover items should either not be available in the cash shop any longer, or they should have a viable way to use them as glamour in current content.

Yes, they date back from ARR-era, but the fact that they are no longer viable even as glamour means they probably should not be still selling them. I know one or two people who picked up the cash shop items planning to glam them over something in higher-end content, only to discover that wasn't an option and be upset they'd spent the money.
