Do the Scions know? (Spoilers)

But specifically, do Urianger and Y'shtola know that we are Azem or at least an Ancient? I'm wondering if a conversation happened off-screen. Because I'm very curious to see how they would react to that. And if they haven't been told, do you think we are waiting for the right moment?

They already know that Ardbert shares the same soul as us. Surely that would raise questions?

Urianger's talk of Azeyma/Azim being analogues for Azem shows that they were told about Azem being the fourteenth seat of the Convocation, but I'm not sure if they were told about you being a shard of that soul.

I don't think the WOL really keeps secrets like this. Too often we have cutscenes pull away where the WOL is explaining everything. So I'm sure they know and the conversation with Urianger is proof of this.

Yeah, there's no real reason for us to keep it a secret - plus if we told them any part of what we learned about Azem, they'd likely guess the rest of it.

What questions would that raise, though? Everyone is a sundered soul. There's nothing remarkable about us and Ardbert being fragments of the same soul (not considering the identity of the soul), besides the fact that we found each other.

- We told the Scions that 'an Ancient' helped us in the battle against Elidibus.
- The scions know that Ardbert and the WoL are/were shards of each other.
- We didn't tell Y'shtola anything of the constellation stones prior to the battle.

Also notable is that the summoning spell hasn't been brought up in the discussions at all, so I think there is a good chance that our character didn't tell everything. The scions might still have their suspicions though.

That's not certain, actually. It's hinted that only folks who have the Echo are ones who bear a fragment of an Ancient's soul. For everyone else, their souls are simply Lifestream stuff and upon death dissolve back into the Lifestream, just as described in the ARR quests where they were discussing how to kill an Ascian.

If it WERE the case that EVERYONE has a fragment - what happens when you run out? Remember that fully three quarters of all Ancients were absorbed into Zodiark, so Soul fragments can only come from the remaining one quarter, and those fragments need to be distributed among all the races, including the Beastmen. What happens if a child is born and there are no fragments left?

I think this is how things are. Considering Y'shtola asked us if everything was wrong and we just shake our head. Along with how her and Urianger both had a small chat that we over heard about how the Lightwarden light wasn't being absorbed just being contained. I would like to think those two would have had another talk about what to think or do with knowing we used to be co-workers at the slightest with the Ascians. I'm not sure we know that we used to be friends of Emet's as you can be just a friend of a friend or any of the other Ascians.
