Content longevity has been a near constant complaint with FFXIV.
Different people want different things though. You hear savage raiders crying that they have to skip the story on patch day to start progression.

So if you put out ishgard restoration ranking event at the same time as progression raiding, then there’d be a lot of crying from them.

The announcement will be the new expansion. And it will be met with applause and people will love it. Yours will be a negative voice in a crowd of people who just don’t want to hear it. So perhaps it’s time to find a game where you can be one of the happy ones? There’s no shame in just saying you’ve outgrown it and walking away.

If we all felt like you then yeah I’d have a point. But no, most people want more of the same.
There is nothing wrong with someone having wishes and expectations, and people who voice such things out rather frequenty hold a way deeper love for the game than 10 people of your kind. One Day, if you stay long enough with FFXIV, experienced every fruit it had to offer, maxed out evrerything and so on, you start noticing the flaws this game has and you hope for change, because changes could make things better on the endgame perspective.

And do you know what i'm going to tell People like you when you reach that point as well?

    Get Out.

No there’s nothing wrong with it, but if every single thing you post is negative and your whole signature is filled up with negative threads and all you ever do is idle and complain, then you have to ask if it’s the best use of your time.

I love the game. I also complain. But I enjoy far more than I don’t. If it ever got to the point where I didn’t enjoy more than I did, then I would leave. Why? Because there are options here. It’s not like FF14 is the only game in the world or the only way to spend your time. Live your best life.

And why should I care? Why is that an acceptable excuse? What about the people that don't care about XVI and don't want less and less content for the same price?

People also get bored of games and mistake that boredom for a decline in quality.

I've known plenty of people sink 500+ hours into a game and then declare it's terrible. It's not terrible though, it's basically the same as ever, it's just that they've played it to death.

The team working on XVI is completely different from XIV's and Yoshi is the producer not it's director so he's not running a whole other project, just has input on it (which he would regardless as he's the head of the division anyways)

LOL account setup is a bit convoluted but its same damn company that was mady SCEA and SE originally for ps2 and PC and eventually the xbox 360. Ah good old PlayOnline which is also on mogstation on your account page. it used to be on on its webpage for the longest time. still, its wasn't a bad game at the time. I would only suggest FFXI if you enjoy a severely steep learning curve, like think old school morrowind with a vague directions and descriptions on where to go lol

    added POL info.

if they made a bunch of content for FFXIV, then people wouldnt go out and buy FF7 remake 2, and FF16 lul they're doing this on purpose.

Listen, if you check my post history you will notice I'm very critical of post-Heavensward FFXIV, but I think it's worth mentioning this.
One of those games made the company sink into a financial crisis, the other didn't. And I suspect that's the reason XIV hasn't been allowed a significantly bigger budget or staff that it sorely needs. So I consider just a bit unfair to compare both games.

    Uhhh... why?
Because people can't play more than one game at a time?
Even my WoW buddy who goes super hardcore into all the raiding and daily chores has time for a job, a social life, a significant other, and other games.
14 didn't see a dip when 7R came out so theres no real reason to expect it would for 7R2.
