Simple, really. The "Many" people you claim that want this isn't as many as you think. It's like an ant yelling at a giant. Or who knows, 6.0 may surprise us.For those of you who are new and don’t understand what I’m talking about, there are race restrictions on all Hempen clothing in ffxiv. Hempen camise and Pantalettes all have different designs based on your race in game. Many people wished for that to be removed so for example, Miqote can wear Hyur Hempen clothing.
This has been highly requested for years, and has gone unanswered for a very long time. It’s unclear whether the dev team is working on this in 6.0 or if they decided to abandon the idea all together....
Judging by the recent Mogstation outfits, I assume their side focus is on glamour now, so what gives? (The lewd open buttoned shirt and the school girl outfit)

i mean a miqote adopted a highlander (minfillia). its not out of the question in somewhere like ul dah which is probably full of orphans

The year has nothing to do with it,(Seriously its such and such a year make this happen is trite and overused) But limitations of old code will always be a thing. For those of you who are new and don’t understand what I’m talking about, there are race restrictions on all Hempen clothing in ffxiv. "Sometimes I wonder I heal for fun. or if I heal because I'm a glutton for punishment."
And the fact that there were TONS of kinks to work out from having the staff transition from office work to working from home. That delays quite a bit when they are unable to connect properly, or having issues that IT has to solve for dozens of people, on a "as it appears" basis. I remember a post, that a community mod posted in, saying that it was being looked at. So it likely will happen, but I can guarantee it's not an urgent item to be dealt with, but rather a when they have time item.
I don't know where people decide to make bizarre requests like this, but in a game where I can do or have anything on a single character, having race specific clothing is weird and out of place. The same piece getting a slightly different design to accommodate for tails or horns or whatever? Sure. But just locking clothes out based on race? No thanks.

*Sees all the discourse approve*
...Okay... :B
I'm pro-unlocking the hempen clothes, by the way... >w>

If Blizzard could untangle their spaghetti to increase the basic backpack size even after explicitly stating that it was impossible, then Square should also be perfectly capable of rewriting their code to lessen arbitrary restrictions.
Almost sounds like they either lost their source code or wrote this in assembly...

I don't think it would be a big problem code-wise. It's more likely a workflow/logistics sort of thing. If they've decided to do it it's probably low priority and continually being pushed down the to-do list by other new gear.

OKAY, this is getting OUT OF HAND. The top I need for this new glam IS the miqo'te hempen top!
I... just... want... to... glam..
I wasted 300k on a stupid black dye, on a stupid top, that doesn't WORK. Actually I wasted 600k, and 2 million, on the stupid hat, stupid sneakers, that I can't WEAR since I can't get the top I need.
