In terms of kabuto helmets, they likely will start giving something else once the 12 years cycle is over. Still some time before it happens though, so... stay strong. As for helmets issue in general, I suspect we can pretty much expect nothing in 5.X at this point. 6.0? Well, maaaybe. Would be good if they finally give something for Viera and Hrothgar. I don't expect them to have all helmets in the game available, but at the very least they should be able to use unlockable haircuts, especially those from Mog Station.

Weirdly enough, that's how a lot of non-USA people feel about Halloween. I don't think much would be lost if they removed both of these festivals.

Non-USA player here and yes, that's true at least for me. I like the event itself because the story behind it is usually pretty funny, and clothes&decorations are normally cute, but I don't care for the holiday itself because it's not a thing where I live. Same for Christmas actually, but given that Christmas and New Year are pretty close to each other in dates, this event, at least, is interchangeable and has almost identical mood to it..

Heavensturn always gives zodiac animal helmets. I don't think I've ever seen anyone wearing any of them.

Wish I took a Screenshot, but our Paladin Tank in a Tsykiomi (I know I botched that name) Wolf Mount Farm was rocking it with some purple dye and the Moon Weapons.
So I know there are people out there that use it, but it likely wont be alot.

That would be nice. Heavensturm is the one event I literally couldn't care less about. We usually get the same fate with the same lackluster glamours. I know it's supposed to follow a tradition but you never see anyone with the helmets. Maybe they're more popular in JP...

It's cute how you think anyone would be mad rather than pleasantly surprised at Viera actually being able to wear any helmet at this point, ears or no.

Yeah, thats a better idea. If you don't like it, don't participate, but please don't think to dictate your culture is the one and only, and your holidays are the only ones the game should have.

I was in Tokyo in October of 2019, and I saw some pretty cool Halloween displays in a few places. It's not as big as it is in the US, but it does have some presence there.

Honestly I enjoyed the little Fate. I have put it on for now, for my FSH to wear around town and also my SAM. But yes it probably won’t get much use. This is just a small holiday though.

With regards to viera, I can’t see it’s a big deal. Barely anyone wears the hat and viera players generally are image conscious, I doubt they’d want something traditional like this in the main.
