Trusts are a fantastic addition to the game. I use them the 1st time I enter a new dungeon so I can take it at my own pace and enjoy the scenery as well as learn new mechs. I also used them to level all alt jobs very quickly.

I love Trust. I use it to learn tanking or practice jobs Im not good with like BLM.

Here are my suggestions for trusts.
1) give me Ryne back, she’s my best one and my favorite. Give her back now.
2) Let Ryne do that ninja aoe with the throwing stars.
3.) Another pure tank class would be appreciated as I don’t like Thancred. Let Ryne tank.

Trust is a good system to help new players get through old content that people don't run anymore.

Big spoiler if you haven't finished 5.3, but....
After completing the main story, G'raha Tia can be used as a Trust. He keeps his All-Rounder status from the first run of Holminster Switch as the Crystal Exarch, so he can tank (as a paladin). He even gets his own method of dealing with the tightrope section on the last boss of Dohn Mheg.
I'm not sure why the trust system would be a "failure" because the AI doesn't use AoE attacks.
Trusts are very optional content. You don't even have to use them in the story, and they were practically made for that. You could program them to be damn near flawless and optimal, but at that point you'd have no reason to run the dungeon with real people (who have the ability to not play optimal and fuck up mechanics, unlike trusts).
Besides, while trusts are slower, they're not that much slower. You can also AFK pretty much every pull, even as a tank. Hit 3 AoEs with tank stance on and tab out for a bit. Easiest content in the game.

Oh I know. Although I didn’t see Dohn Mheg yet! I love how they all have their own way to get across and Ryne is super catious and takes forever bless her.
[hb]He’s max level though so while I’m levelling trusts I’m kinda stuck with Thancred as it’s pointless to use him and miss out on xp.
It always felt a bit odd that there were 3 dps, 2 healers and 1 tank rather than 2/2/2. It’s hard for me to get both Alisae and Ryne in and they’re my favorites. Yshtola never gets a turn. [\hb]

Here's a secret: I still have never once done a trust.![]()
