I'm not saying you should feel bad for liking it because they are cool, but not as main combo.I don't mind them since they are cool to me since all their other animations are less on the flashy side and heated clean shot fits machinist nature the most and also pushes them back when you do the shot, its a nice way to add flair to their shots. Though i wouldn't mind them adding back the animation for rend mind in place of heated splitshot
Then MCH would just be more barebones than it is right now along with even less damage. Personally I like the addition because it breaks the flow of doing the 3-button combo which gets boring at certain points. More AoE options too than just pew pew pew in a cone.its not tacked on you say? the four major "gadget" skills we got in SHB what would MCH loose if it lost any of them Drill, Bio, Auto and Air. the execution is very much tacked on in the context of the job not the lore. 50 MCH plays essentially identical to 80. And i would say not much disregarding numbers. Air is only relevant because Hot shot upgrades into it which seems rather off hand aswell
The heated shots were fun when you first unlocked them. It was exciting to build up towards it and then unleash chaotic lead upon the field. I feel the heated shots becoming the default after a certain point just made it lose how unique it felt to me.
Kinda wish we held the gun with both hands like when Sprinting. Then you could do things like have the character lift the rifle into a high-ready stance and underhand toss a grenade with their forehand, bring the barrel back down onto their outstretched hand and shoot the grenade out of the air to make it explode on the targets. They could make spread shot be fired from the hip similar to how it's held in Flamethrower. Perhaps drop down into kneeling position for Gauss Round.
I understand that's unlikely to happen since we've got pistol sized firearms mixed in with shotguns and rifles as a catch-all 'Gun' so the one handed animations will likely remain, but perhaps going forward if they're going to add more gadgets, they could be more grounded in their character's animations and just have absurdly wild effects going on if they wish to keep the flash and style that MCH headed towards in SHB.

i literally just said disregard numbers, the additions arent bad per see but cmon just boring CD skills is this the best they can do? and it breaks the flow alright to a halt. Whats the word that comes to mind rhymes with "hacked pawn"
Implementations may be better than nothing, a attitude thats bizzare to have, but as a whole its not much as your still doing 1-2-3 that 20/40 sec skills dont make the job fun just halt the flow of heat and your 1-2-3

Where is the ambition?
a idea like somthing that restricts movement for concentrated gun fire? ie BLM Leylines? Like idk a Sniper barrel? Maybe throw in some variation like Pierce shot thats a debuff shot then Head Shot so you dont spam cuz spamming isnt fun so you have some level of variation? MCH left many voides going into 5.0, its support, its ammo , and barrels it would be fun to revisit those concepts as they diversived the job somthing the ff6 gadgets dont do well at allThe heated shots were fun when you first unlocked them. Machinist is basically the logical upgrade to Musketeer, both in game and in lore.
I too, miss Grenado Shot, the cooler AOE it used to have.Kinda wish we held the gun with both hands like when Sprinting. I mean if we're actually talking about game play instead of just animation flare I wouldn't be sure.a idea like somthing that restricts movement for concentrated gun fire? ie BLM Leylines? MCH is still very much a physical ranged and we'd see a few cases of folks doom saying it's become gunmage-lite. Though if it's a leylines thing where 'this' little spot gives more dps when they're in it without hard locking their mobility could be doable but it'll likely feel like SE wants to compel MCH to be the only Turret Aiming job which would lead to demands it sacrifice it's mobility for dps... I don't know if it wouldn't just be BLM with guns.
Revamping older concepts and reintroducing them could be nice. Having more debuff types to rely on would be fun if fights weren't just immune to everything that isn't a DoT. Heat blast is pretty much the old Rapid Fire skill just evolved into it's own gimmick.
I also miss the animation for drk's Scourge.
I can't believe we will never get another gun job as we already have a gun job.
Just like we only have one job that uses swords and one job that uses books.
So logically consistent.
