Main Scenario Quests:

Meh. The trend of eroding away the 'grit' continues. There's now a cure for Tempering, which makes Primals even less of a threat than they have been reduced to. Limsa is taking steps to turn its back on piracy altogether. Do we really need every bit of flavour to be eroded away? Fandaniel and Zenos appear to have as much depth as I expected - which is to suggest, none at all. That's disappointing and it feels particularly bitter after the likes of Varis, Emet-Selch and Elidibus. Worse yet, the cure for Tempering was obviously planned well in advance. I don't care about Ga Bu. It would've been pleasant to have either Emet-Selch or Elidibus cured of their Tempering, though - and work with them to find an alternate way to attain their goals that didn't involve so much bloodshed, or at least have them help play a part in dealing with Zenos, Fandaniel and whatever caused the original world to be destroyed.

I was hoping for more fresh information about Zodiark, Hydaelyn, Amaurot and the Ancients. Not rehashing of plot points we've already tread many times already. It wasn't a terrible MSQ, though not a lot really happened and it's hard not to assume that these mysterious towers will accomplish one of two things. Either they'll be stopped before they do any real damage or they'll conveniently only result in destruction that benefits Eorzea in some way, such as taking out Garlemald. It's mildly interesting that they've supposedly appeared everywhere, though it remains to be seen if visit those further afield.

It seems as though we're potentially building up to another split expansion in the form of Garlemald and Sharlayan. Both have been hinted at and named dropped heavily.

The biggest disappointment of this patch is that nobody of note died - the fake deaths are getting very tiresome and any story that only ever kills off sympathetic antagonists, who a significant amount of players play to see, becomes increasingly one note.

I dislike G'raha and I'd like the option to shoot him down. Or at least give a frosty response whenever he starts fawning over my character. Not everybody playing this game embraces the self insert trope and needs constant fawning over.
