I'm surprised nobody else seems to think this is important. As it stands: If you want to have the best gear for a specific synced instance you need to go back and collect a full set of gear at that instance's exact level so that you can place materia in that gear without the stats being discarded due to syncing. That means melded endgame gear is actually *worse* than melded low-level gear for nearly all of this game's content!

I understand that realistically this only has a meaningful impact on ultimates and some BLU achievements, but the principal of the thing is completely backwards.

Ya, Most so on older content, content that could totally be solo now if it wasn't for gear syncing.
IE Maps, eureka, I know Eureka has its own leveling system but Things need to be revamped to me it solo/duo-able in a reasonable time while still keeping up with even patches.

But you need to stop and think why Mythic+ has staying power for WoW players. It's the gear system design and side power progression in that game. WoW, far more so than this game, is based around the gear chase. Almost everything you do in end game, whether you're casual or hardcore, comes down to "maybe I'll get lucky and get a random upgrade instead of normal loot". There's the side power progression so you're going in there and farming up whatever tokens get added to the side power trees to unlock additional traits.

Why do most players running M+ in WoW do it? Because they want a chance at a possible upgrade from the Mythic cache the following week. They do their one +15 a week then stop. If a new raid has released, they might do a bit of M+ farming to see if they can get an upgraded version of the latest OP trinket for the start of progression, or to push a bit farther ahead on whatever the side power progression content is but that generally only lasts 3-4 weeks before they go back to doing their single +15 then stopping. It's an extremely tiny percentage of players who aren't doing it for the random gear upgrade but instead are doing it solely to see how high they can push a key or how fast they can clear an instance.

Take away the M+ cache. Take away the random chance for upgrades so the best they'd get from a high level key is the base level gear which is no better than normal raid gear. Take away the ability to progress the side power system.

That's what M+ would be like in this game because the gear system here doesn't have that RNG dependency and we don't have the side power progression.

For M+/Unreal style dungeons to work here, there would need to be rewards that make it worthwhile for you to keep doing it week after week. What should those rewards be?

I'm not saying SE shouldn't add more content for top tier players. I'm saying it's a pointless effort if there aren't rewards that make it appealing enough to keep repeating and we lack the systems that makes M+ work for WoW.

So what would motivate you to keep doing it after the first couple of weeks when the novelty factor has worn off?

Except Eureka isn't intended to be solo content. It's intended to be old style MMO content that required a group.

If you want to level faster, just follow the NM trains and kill things needed for your challenge log between NMs. It goes pretty fast.

There was mention about challenging 4 man dungeons like the m+ dungeons in WoW, sadly Yoshi P doesnt want them "because there would be more pressure on every individual and some people could get negative comments if they dont perform as other expect them to." It seems he hasnt realized that we had this in Savage or even Trials for years, or maybe its different in Japan? I dont know.

I get why he doesn't want it but at some point Yoshi P is going to have to get over it. It's going to stagnate the game if we turn away new content on the basis of "Players may get their feelings hurt."
