SE's inability to protect players from stalking/harassment

I for one believe the OP, and I do think it is a form of harassment. I just don't think it's a form that is actionable by the GMs, and I think it could easily be ignored. This OP's supposed stalker - and I've said before there are people who do do things as described in this community - probably knows this very well.

I do also think some of the negative posts in this thread are a bit uncalled for. Many continuing the same arguments ad nauseum. Largely, rather than discuss what SE could do better in dealing with forms of harassment it has become laden with personal attacks against the OP.

I've dealing with bots for months. I've sent 2 reports about this one bot.. one report was about the auto trading, and the other was about the character having over 30 retainers. The bot is still functioning. I am just waiting to see if maybe it will be deleted during the next purge. If not, I am going to not renew my membership and make a post about it, and take a long break from the game. That's the only thing big companies understand. Money.

If you want to see huge changes in housing and with the user interface. Make a public post in a forum, similarly to what you've done here, but make it a suggestion thread and make it clear what it is you are suggestion. More options for house owners. More control over what a player can see in game. Don't send anymore reports that may only be seen and dismissed by one support worker. If this was a suggestion thread I'd support it 100%.

Thanks for the feedback and being open-minded. The purpose of this thread IS to draw attention to the few problems that Ive noticed that could use some work, which is why I was ignoring any negative comments about my situation. Not because I didnt want other people to disagree with me, it just wasnt the main point of my thread and I didnt want to draw attention away from the need for new features... which is what I saw was happening and I just wanted to stomp that out so that we could focus on the main point. Im done "crying" about my stalker and this thread was to advocate for change so that it could be prevented if SE's support has such a hard time deciding between whats worth punishing and what isnt. I think adding new features would help players to feel more in control about these kinds of things and also give more freedom to prevent stalking on their own, which might reduce the need for reporting such occurences to GMs.

Thank you, I really do appreciate the acknowledgment. Nothing about my situation reads as "rational", perhaps even the way I initially chose to go about getting rid of my stalker and relying on GMs, which is why its so important for SE to take action and give players more privacy options to prevent the need to even report to a GM unless it's really something out of that players control.

If you want to make a suggestion then submit a suggestion. Do not file a report for harassment, when what you really should be doing is making a suggestion.

What makes you think that I am writing a harassment reports? I'm telling you how it works. That people write such reports because the system is not working properly. If it had more options, they would use them instead of reporting. And it's not that they write the "wrong" reports, but that the SE prefers to get a bunch of reports instead of just changing the system of ignoring.

Like I said before, I think if you had handled this different you could have saved yourself a lot of stress. If I had something like this happen to me, I wouldn't even have acknowledged them. If they want to live their life following me around 24/7 in a video game. Whatever.

I think SE is actually at fault for the kind of community they have fostered here. The way they handle moderation, their heavy-handedness, has caused a lot of the passive-aggressive behaviors as described. Not to mention the fact that these features (or lack thereof) are not an oversight, but rather working as intended. The claims that SE are good at handling harassment are laughable, in my opinion. Many have already outlined SE's faults in this thread, before it devolved into what it is now.

You neither should or should have to close down your FC, FC house, or whatever because somebody who is apparently unstable cannot leave you (or your friends) alone.

How is that fair to other players that they can't also enjoy the FC house with their friends??? It isnt. Also, I have temporarily closed the FC house, but again, its just not fair to my members and no one should have to be subjected to that kind of decision because another player cant act like a decent person.

Give your members the guest access/estate tag permission it will let them unlock the FC house when they want to bring in friends. The permission wont let them tamper with the house in any major way so dont worry about that. Just let them know relock the house when they are done so you dont get unwanted visitors.

I tried to test this out with one of my members before, but they said that it didnt work. Maybe they were mistaken? I'll re-test it and see if it allows for them to do so freely. We're not a big FC and thankfully everyone has been really understanding of my stalker situation, but I still cant help but feel bad that Im not able to do more for them or for myself in these kinds of situations.

They should be going Housing>estate settings>free company estate>guest access settings Then unchecking estate hall access to:unlock and Rechecking to:lock

It's good of you to keep trying to engage this person in an honest and real way, but they are too far gone. This person has called anyone who disagrees with him/her a troll, toxic, and everything else under the sun. There's no reasoning with someone like that.

Someone else said something about this person needing professional help and I happen to think that was the best advice given this whole thread. Someone who claims to be "sensitive" to the pain of other people, but doesn't have enough empathy to realize that spamming support staff with over 100 tickets in under 10 months during a pandemic is WRONG, can't be reasoned with. They think what they think is right and there is nothing on this Earth that will change their mind.. and everyone who does not agree is evil and toxic and a troll.

I agree 100% it's pitiful really. The fact that she typed out a wall of text complaining about someone standing next to her and saying it's harassment just screams "I'm immature and whine about petty things". Then all of a sudden " the na is toxic". It doesn't take a genius or a detective to look at story and pick out all the inconsistencies and turn into the truth. Then OP wants to throw a hissy fit because she's been caught in a lie. I honestly hope SE bans her, because if I'm in support and I'm receiving a lot of complaints about something petty I'm sure as hell giving out a punishment that fits the crime. You wanna send 100 reports of issue that isn't there? Then you can have a 100 day ban.

Often victims of abuse don't just have to deal with their abuser, they have to wade through those who have no actual stake in the wellbeing of the victim but who insist on stirring the pot just because they can. This thread provides many examples of that.
