SE's inability to protect players from stalking/harassment

I wont comment on the validness of the OP's post but some changes for sure need to be made. Blacklist should remove you from friends list and make you unsearchable to said person. Your old character name should not lead people to your new character on the lodestone. Still its best to use the tools that are at hand blacklist the offending players characters main/alts, take advantage of player housing if you got and apartment,fc room or personal house. Then lock the doors and go inside if someone is constantly following you especially if you are just standing around talking or afk. Last ditch option that I would not recommend doing giving them a dose of their own medicine.

Have you encountered personal trolling in raids and dungeons yet? Have you ever deleted many pages of spam in the guestbook at home? Then you are very lucky. Stalking and "my brother kept looking at me" are completely different things, so your mom's advice is not universal sadly.

Square Enix is really good at punishing people for spamming. I have never heard of a legitimate case of spam that didn't result in at least a warning. Also, if you are being a troll in a dungeon by impeding progress, Square Enix is very good at punishing you for that as well. What you are referencing are legitimate punishable offenses. Report them and you will find that the person doing them will be dealt with. What OP is talking about is someone's avatar simply standing around. Not saying anything (because they are blacklisted), not emoting in chat. Not doing anything but following OP around. That is not a punishable offense and my mother's advice holds. Ignore that behavior because it is of no consequence. Report behavior such as spamming and dungeon trolling because that actually negatively impacts gameplay.

The system of ignoring needs to be changed. Both in the game and on the forum. By the way, about the forums. The fact that you can see the message of an ignored person in another user's quote is incredibly funny.

What's toxic is the way people choose to respond when they disagree. Your comments are insensitive and rude. You came to a thread and stated your opinion...again...and again... and not in a productive way. I call things as I see it and I definitely see a bunch of people who are no better than my stalker. Lurking in threads to tear people down when theyre expressing serious concern. Trying to respond to people like that and have a decent conversation is not realistic. I feel bad for people like you. Clearly mama should have given out more hugs instead of "advice".

The whole point of ignoring things and learning to cope with reality, something children learn early in life, is because sometimes there are things that are not in your control. Sometimes we have to weigh other people's freedoms against your own personal feelings and maybe its the case that not always your feelings matter. You are given enough tools to where you literally don't have to interact with another player at all. Yet you sit here and complain simply because you have to deal with the horror of seeing their avatar walking around?

Like I said. Legitimate instances of harassment or spamming are dealt with quickly. What you are calling "stalking" is just someone's avatar lurking around. That is not an issue. Ignore it. They are not harming you. They are not even talking to you. They are just standing there. Its not the end of the world. Ignore it. Heck, I don't even know who's standing around me unless they are on my FL or in my party because I keep names turned off.

It's good of you to keep trying to engage this person in an honest and real way, but they are too far gone. This person has called anyone who disagrees with him/her a troll, toxic, and everything else under the sun. There's no reasoning with someone like that.

Someone else said something about this person needing professional help and I happen to think that was the best advice given this whole thread. Someone who claims to be "sensitive" to the pain of other people, but doesn't have enough empathy to realize that spamming support staff with over 100 tickets in under 10 months during a pandemic is WRONG, can't be reasoned with. They think what they think is right and there is nothing on this Earth that will change their mind.. and everyone who does not agree is evil and toxic and a troll.

If my stalker coudlnt see my player name or location, they wouldnt have even been able to harass me at my own FC in the first place. I think if you don't want people writing in your FC book then you should probably take it down or close down your FC to the public. I googled you, you're the FC leader. You can do that. I don't think it's against the rules for a person to write in the message book of a FC open to the public, therefore I don't think a report should have been made. I think you should have utilized the SUGGESTION feature and made a suggestion about it. Instead, you just harassed support workers about an issue that is not technically harassment. These people don't have the authority to change the rules of the game, but you don't care. You want your way right now and don't care who you have to irritate to get it.

How is that fair to other players that they can't also enjoy the FC house with their friends??? It isnt. Also, I have temporarily closed the FC house, but again, its just not fair to my members and no one should have to be subjected to that kind of decision because another player cant act like a decent person.
