If you keep flooding support with complaints like this, then you will probably end up getting banned. Basically them telling you to knock it off.

Clearly you missed the part where this stalking was not just in-game. My friend blocked this other person on all platforms and they showed up at their front door in another state two days later- but Im not supposed to be concerned about this person to then come back and stalk me, even just in-game? This went beyond ffxiv and they did nothing in-game to prevent it still-their response was just to call local authorities. It wasnt just petty stalking.I'm against the harassment of support workers. I work in a support role and deal with "Karen-esque" behavior all the time. It infuriates me. Flooding the queues with reports over a nonsense issue should be a suspendable offense in my opinion. It has nothing to do with me advocating for "stalkers" or anything like that. There are actual issues that actually impact gameplay in a negative way, such as the serious bot problem this game has... and I can't help but feel that real problems get ignored because support is too busy dealing with nonsense tickets all day long.
Yes, I hope to catch their attention to fix an issue, not slap my stalker. It's very clear that wasnt going to happen, so absolutely I came to the forums to advocate for prevention. If SE cant take something as serious as in-game to irl stalking seriously, then they really need to make some changes. 100% I do not think anyone should have to change the way they play a game because of someones actions. Especially if they did try to avoid this person by blacklisting and name changing. So after over 100 tickets you suddenly chose to stop caring, but still managed to care enough to post in the forums about this and post on several other websites, hoping to catch Square Enix's attention? I'm not trying to sound mean but you're not fooling anyone. It is clear that you deeply care about this issue otherwise you wouldn't have harassed the support staff for months on end over an issue that can't even be considered harassment.
There's a reason why your over 100 tickets don't lead to anything. A person's character simply hanging around is not harassment. This is an MMORPG. If you want to be alone then close down your FC house or hide in an inn. If you don't like someone leaving messages on your FC Message book then close it down. It's not hard. There are tools in place to deal with these kinds of issues. You just aren't using them.
I really dont have to explain my thought process on this to you though; you're free to disagree and Im always up for a debate but I stand firm on this.
And in note of nearly 100 reports- youre right I should have been here advocating after the first 3 reports were ignored and when she showed up at my friends door. but is it so wrong to have faith in the authority to take care of your stalking problem? Clearly there is. It's a real knee slapper.

Gonna be blunt. What thought process?Yes, I hope to catch their attention to fix an issue, not slap my stalker. Not only are you pelting SE with an issue you think is serious, they most likely think the issue is not serious because you're bugging then and they probably think you're a troll seeking attention. Also if this is irl issue why can't you get the authorities involved like SE told you? Why do they have to do it and not you? I'm putting the pieces together and the picture I'm getting is that there is no stalker and you're one of many trolls seeking attention just because you can.
I see you're a little off topic. Let me redirect you. The point of this thread is to discuss preventative measures, not your opinions and critiques on how I chose to protect myself while being harassed. So please, stay on topic and politely state your opinion regarding the idea of changes being made to the game. Thank you.
This has nothing to do with being on topic. But if you think your actions re in the then right then you do you. And watch as SE punishes you for your harassment and possible false claims.I see you're a little off topic. Let me redirect you. Yeah, I tend to agree. If this person is stalking in real life, and they (SE) have told you to contact the authorities, that's probably what needed to have been done. Rather than the what 97 reports after the fact. They did what they could, and found nothing actionable. Simple as that. Having them change their features - which are working as intended - to try and find another way around this issue is one thing. At least most can agree SE should take a second look at their social features in general, but as others have said you could have saved yourself a lot of stress if you had handled this situation differently.
