    Agreed, or at least a form of Experts with a little less rng (since losing expensive mats to failing 7 Centered in a row would suck)

    Most of the positive points you're talking about are regarding Experts, which are rather insignificant outside of a few titles and a mount. You don't require crafting food, syrup or rotations outside of that. I can make Neo-Ishgard with no consumables on one button and all a new crafter needs to do is Ishgard spam to 80, buy a dirt cheap full Aesthete set on the mb's from the numerous bots, plug in materia and copy-paste an all purpose macro. "Master" Recipe's are dead and worthless and leveling is just a small bump in your path to churning out cheap items on a macro.

    Rotations are quite bland now with very little room to innovate. Either a Reflect or Muscle Memory opener into Manip, Veneration -> Waste Not -> Groundworks -> Preparatory(s) -> Patient touches/innos to IQ 11 -> Brygots Finish. Pretty much every Master Recipe rotation is going to be a variant of the above, where in the past we were still theorycrafting and discovering new rotations a month into a patch. I already have my 4 star crafted set macro ready, 1-100%, even for the highest estimates.

    I'm actually quite disappointed with the craft relics so far. Essentially each step is: macro craft x items with yellow scrip mats -> macro craft moar items with yellow scrip mats -> macro craft even moar of the same -> macro craft even MOAR again of the same. Weak story, no variation, just an hour or two chore to get a welfare purple.

    It might suck, but it would also end up increasing the value of HQ items because they'd become much rarer. Even a "failed" craft could still produce a NQ item that would sell to a player who just wanted the item for glamour, or who would rather pay less than what the HQ items are going for.

    The highly skilled crafters will still get a much higher percentage of HQ compared to the low skilled crafter. Going for HQ mats would start meaning something again compared to the current system where they're pointless so might as well go solely for yield.

    It's not necessarily a bad idea to leave that RNG in place.

    Just like the relic weapons. The actual Bozja story is separate from the relic grind. Doing it just happens to give you a chance at getting some of the items needed. FATE/dungeon grinding is still much more effective for the weapons.
