    Absolutely Superb!

I don't know how anyone else feels but I personally am very pleased with FFXIV's crafting.

FFXIV's crafting has, and always been the best thing about XIV that truly sets it apart from any other MMO.

Players have to prepare not only their gear, not only their rotation, but also must, and I mean, must be well stocked with supplies to craft expert recipes.

    1.) Delineation.
I'm glad to see this was fixed, and is now well integrated into crafting. Players who do more crafting will have a huge stock and this is a nice expendable item that encourages gameplay and planning.

    2.) Syrups.
I really like this feature. It reminds me of sanction or other similar buffs that encourages gameplay, and really benefits the player.

    3.) Food.
I'm very glad that food is essentially a must. I cannot fathom there is a player crafting expert recipes without food.

These are the types of things I love to see.

Multiple resources being used to maximize effort, and not for the sake of "a bigger number" but for actually tackling the most difficult content.

I really feel the battle team can learn something from the crafting team.

The only thing I would like to see is expert recipes outside of Ishgard restoration.

Create a buff that syncs a players gear, that must be used to craft the Expert recipe and let only expert crafters craft these rare and unique items. Maybe like how the Ixali quests work. A debuff that locks your craftsmanship, control and CP to certain amounts, the player must then craft a collectable item, and then turn that collectable item into an item they can use, sell on the marketboard, or gain a buff from that only that player can utilize. Rewarding the only truly invested crafters!

Outside of expert recipes, things are basically trivial, so I feel this is a win win situation. Again the only thing I would like to see is expert recipes outside of Ishgard, that players can use to make rare glamour, equipment, minions, or other things to sell and use. Reward experiences players/crafters for their effort outside of a ranking board!

I also am pleased with the crafting "relic" quest. I hope to see these replace the other numerous throw away items. I also hope this isnt the end of this questline. I dont want to see these replaced with a whole new quest line and these end up going into the glamour chest or onto the floor. I want to see them pick the quest line back up in the next expansion. Please do not throw it away. Make players work for items. Not every single item in the game has to be a throw away item. Not that these were "hard" to get, but seriously not every item needs to be a throw away/glamour only item.

I also would add with the crafting tools questline. Make the quest progress-able by any class.

This way you pick it up as the class you want, when you need to turn an item in you need to be on the class you crafted it with, but when you go to collect your tool, you can be on any class, this way you dont need 2 tools for the same class just to do the quest.

This was handled very well with the 3.0 battle class Anima quests, and should be utilized here and ... also the new Bozja weapons. You should not need 2 tools for the same class just to turn a quest in.

Agreed, or at least a form of Experts with a little less rng (since losing expensive mats to failing 7 Centered in a row would suck)

Most of the positive points you're talking about are regarding Experts, which are rather insignificant outside of a few titles and a mount. You don't require crafting food, syrup or rotations outside of that. I can make Neo-Ishgard with no consumables on one button and all a new crafter needs to do is Ishgard spam to 80, buy a dirt cheap full Aesthete set on the mb's from the numerous bots, plug in materia and copy-paste an all purpose macro. "Master" Recipe's are dead and worthless and leveling is just a small bump in your path to churning out cheap items on a macro.

Rotations are quite bland now with very little room to innovate. Either a Reflect or Muscle Memory opener into Manip, Veneration -> Waste Not -> Groundworks -> Preparatory(s) -> Patient touches/innos to IQ 11 -> Brygots Finish. Pretty much every Master Recipe rotation is going to be a variant of the above, where in the past we were still theorycrafting and discovering new rotations a month into a patch. I already have my 4 star crafted set macro ready, 1-100%, even for the highest estimates.

I'm actually quite disappointed with the craft relics so far. Essentially each step is: macro craft x items with yellow scrip mats -> macro craft moar items with yellow scrip mats -> macro craft even moar of the same -> macro craft even MOAR again of the same. Weak story, no variation, just an hour or two chore to get a welfare purple.

It might suck, but it would also end up increasing the value of HQ items because they'd become much rarer. Even a "failed" craft could still produce a NQ item that would sell to a player who just wanted the item for glamour, or who would rather pay less than what the HQ items are going for.

The highly skilled crafters will still get a much higher percentage of HQ compared to the low skilled crafter. Going for HQ mats would start meaning something again compared to the current system where they're pointless so might as well go solely for yield.

It's not necessarily a bad idea to leave that RNG in place.

Just like the relic weapons. The actual Bozja story is separate from the relic grind. Doing it just happens to give you a chance at getting some of the items needed. FATE/dungeon grinding is still much more effective for the weapons.

FF XIV crafting isn't really my thing outside of Beast Tribe dailies. I prefer my crafting to be short, sweet and to the point like WoW's is. Get the mats. Hit craft. Profit or new transmog piece. But a lot of people seem to enjoy FF XIV's crafting system. There's a lot to it without a doubt.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.
