I'm fine with some genderlocks as long as it's an even playing field, so females don't get more attention than males (or vis versa but that rarely happens). Whether it being 2020 or not is irrelevant, "no one wants" is a lie.
I want the the Unending Journey to be more complete. There are dozens of missing cutscenes from the MSQ and sidequests. Seasonal event scenes should be saved. There are also dozens of scenes that are not connected to quests that don't end up in there, like the Firmament scenes, and those triggered by achievements.

Oh my LORD these two things, absolutely. I don't remember why it was they switched casting companies (I believe it was something to do with contracts with SE as a whole vs. the game itself) but it is 100000000% worth going back and rerecording the ARR dialogue with the new cast. Some of them were passable, even enjoyable (Sam Riegel made a great Alphinaud and Merlwyb's VA in HW onward was a downgrade from Jean Gilpin imo) but most of the cast were absolute horrid. Delivery, cast choicing, everything, it was all bad and would be WAY more immersive if they rerecorded ARR with the new cast.3. Redo the English voice acting for ARR and bring it up to modern standards. You could still keep the old voice files and let the players select between the old or the new dubs, if you want. The old ARR voice acting doesn't inspire confidence in newcomers to the game who heard that this was was a good story heavy JRPG, and I think it'd be worth the investment.
4. Implement trusts for ARR, HW, and Stormblood dungeons. For the ARR dungeons, you would probably group up with adventurers, GC soldiers, and Scions. For HW through Stormblood, you'll obviously go through it with the main characters of those expansions, ie going through Sohm Al with Estinien, Alphinaud, and Ysalye, or going through Bardam's Mettle with Hien, Gosetsu, and Yugiri or the Mol girl.
AND FOR THE LOVE OF THE TWELVE YES PLEASE give us the trust for expansions. I kind of touched on this with the point about squadrons, but the squadron AI is so bad it makes it essentially useless to level with them in ARR/HW content. I would love for a trust system in SB and HW, especially in dungeons we know we're canonically running with the NPCs (Such as the Aery and Bardam's Mettle).
Agreed. I know they're mitigating some of this with New Game+ being stretched back all the way to ARR (slowly), but seasonal and limited event quests don't make it to Unending Journey and that makes me sad. They need to add Eternal Bonding ceremony scenes to UE too, for those of us who got married in game.I want the the Unending Journey to be more complete. There are dozens of missing cutscenes from the MSQ and sidequests. Seasonal event scenes should be saved. There are also dozens of scenes that are not connected to quests that don't end up in there, like the Firmament scenes, and those triggered by achievements.
Are you sure you want to use this mandatory quest item on this mandatory quest interactive item? This needs to go.
Can't do Action X because Window Y is open.
Quick synth simply needs to be faster.
Shards/Crystals/Clusters need to go. They are nothing but a market for bots.
Culinarian needs to not require 6 ingredients for tons of crafts. It is murder on inventory.
Same with Fisher. Too many baits / fish to fish. Their offhand should have been "Bait" that was replaced every few levels and worked on things lower than it.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
I forgot another one. Macro icons. I get they're probably used with the intention using the depicted skill, but the fact that they remain dimmed on other jobs is an annoyance for those that do not even require combat like gearset macros or role macros that consolidate all the skills in one button (I have such for Healers because I's more space efficient and I like the option of mouseovers). As such I would like the option to have them stay lit despite no being in PVP instances or another job.
The problem with genderlocks is that it's inherently an uneven playing field no matter what you do with it. With the current system, if a person playing a male character wants, say, a pair of boots from a female-locked glamour set, tough. The whole "separate but equal" thing is flawed because of its subjectivity; what some players view as fair, others won't. We know SE is capable of making typically feminine sets available to both genders (i.e. the bunny outfit from the Gold Saucer, the Mheg outfit on the cash shop, 2b's outfit from Copied Factory) so there isn't an excuse not to remove gender locks at the very LEAST on all content moving forward. My comment on it being 2020 is that we're in a more accepting age than ever and there's no excuse to hide behind antiquated gender norms as an excuse to say "well players like it this way" when the vast majority do not. If it's a matter of making money, they can still MAKE the feminine and masculine sets to sell on the cash shop, just don't genderlock them. I guarantee they'll still make plenty of money that way, if not more, for players wanting outfits currently locked to the opposite gender.
Your whole statement reads as: "I'm fine with it so everyone else has no reason not to be fine with it." And that's just super toxic, my dude.
Speaking of fisher offhand.... why give us one and then not update it? I'm still stuck with my level 61 spearfishing gig and it's murder on the ilvl.
This, or give us more inventory space. Or give us a separate inventory specifically for crafting materials. So many options that SE doesn't use.
God yes this please do away with this SE.
1. GODS YES THIS. This is what I was referring to when I mentioned furniture flipping. Not being able to flip stairs is absolute murder on the layout planning.Things that come to mind.
1. Being able to turn the loft steps to face the other way. I'd wanted to put 2 lofts on opposing sides of the room with the stairs to them facing each other in the center of the room but could not get the game to turn the stairs to go to the other loft.
2. A male race with a size comparable to Miqo'te and Au'ra females. I'm referring to total mass, not just height. Currently the male character options are choices choosing what category of body builder you want to be, or being a potato. Given that the game is made by a Japan based company I'm kind of surprised we don't have this.
3. More customization options in the character creator. It just feels a bit outdated after playing other games that let you create your own character.
4. Moogles as a playable race... I've been salty about not being able to play the FF MMO as a moogle since FFXI back in 2002... >.>
5. SMN egi. SMN in this game feels lackluster compared to previous titles. The main reason for it is the Egi's. They honestly to me look more like cosmetic pets than actual summons. Even FFXI had actual summons though they were much smaller than the prime avatars you had to fight to unlock them. Yeah when I say lackluster I'm talking about visuals in this case. The egi's are lackluster and additionally we only have 3 summons while previous titles had more available.
2. You can kiiiiinda achieve this with the midlander Hyur but.... agreed. Males in general in this game just aren't given the same attention that females are and it shows.
3. Hard agree. Also remove the makeup options from the face paint and put them in separate windows. And put the freckles in the facial features window.
4. :O I've never heard of/thought of this before... Interesting food for thought!!
5. YES. We've been promised updates on the SMN egis since HW, SE!! When will they follow through???
