Much of what you're saying holds true, but there are a few points I would like to make.

What I'm supporting is common sense and realism instead of conspiracy theories. I'm supporting thinking things through instead of knee-jerk reactions because you have a need to feel offended and/or victimized when things aren't to your personal satisfaction.

It is a war going on, choose side.

The bot problem is in every MMO, and every MMO struggles to combat it. It is not a simple problem to solve like some want to believe or MMOs would have been rid of bots years ago. The fight goes on and SE is part of it even if some of you want to think they don't care and are ignoring it.

Yes, they have bots in every game, but FFXIV is extreme. I know you try to point to WoW, but that's peanuts in comparison, mostly because Blizzard have given the players tools to combat bots when it comes to the market place, and bots doing nodes are not much of a problem, compared to the market.

I guess go on with your personal attacks, though. You don't seem to have a position you're capable of discussing constructively when attacking others who agree that bots are a problem is the best you can do.

I've tried discussing constructively several times, both about bots and about the way players use the markets, it doesn't help. And the attack you're talking about was more of a try to uncover a person with a hidden agenda. That player could easily have countered my attack by posting from a character that wasn't under a month old, but chose not to, giving credence to my accusation.

There was no hidden agenda in what that other poster said. That was you reaching for ways to try to discredit their opinion when there was no reason for it.

I think the GM's and the STF are failing miserably

I had a turn in at waking sands and noticed some bot activity, I waited there for 20 minutes, taking screen shots, watching them run off through the ground and made a report for 105 unique bot characters...
thats on ONE NA server in ONE area...

I tried this today. Same deal on EU Moogle server. Bots teleporting in and out in the Vesper Bay area all day long. I've noticed that all the bots I see teleporting are from another world so they are harder to report. To be honest I think SE does not care one bit about NA/EU. They keep their JP servers clean and that's it. Job done for them.

I would have to agree.

yes, bots will always be a problem, yes, they are everywhere because cheating is easier than doing it yourself.

however other games actually TRY to do something about it. despite some protestations to the contrary, on the NA/EU servers SE appears to have given up even that pretense. we are expected to cheer because they banned some hacked accounts and botting so obvious it staggers the imagination. I apologize to the enablers for having expectations a little higher than banning of a couple hundred bots even a 5 year old could spot.

I don't so much attack other posters as question their motives, which, last time I checked, had nothing to do with harassment.
