Considering I'm constantly reporting botter gathering rings, yeah, I would find it odd.

With an almost brand new character? I guess that's not your main, but wouldn't such a message have been better coming from a character that wasn't created back in October (both on the forum and in the game)?
Stop with the personal attacks, please. Age of an account or character does not invalidate someone's opinion.
You're revealing your own position as weak when you resort to personal attacks on another poster for nonsensical reasons, especially when your own forum account and character are only a few months older.
You know people think SE's enforcement team is a joke when the cheaters who got removed from my server's Ishgard rankings just went right back to their botting routines as soon as they got unbanned; the only difference being that they just don't do it in the Diadem anymore.
If it took such a huge outcry just to get them put in a half-hearted effort that only caught a small fraction of the ranking cheaters overall, it scarcely seems worth even bothering anymore.
If someone claims something, they should be able to validate those claims. I gave him the opportunity to refute what I said, he didn't take te offer (so far). The conclusion I leave up to others to take. It was not so much a personal attack as an attack on those in the community that sails under false flag when it comes to the opposition to botting.Stop with the personal attacks, please. My own take, reporting the bots is too hard. Yesterday there were 5 scrambled names, from another server, levelling underground in the weaver's guild. The time/reward ratio to report those just isn't worth it. They will be deleted as soon as they get the free shards.
They claimed they reported botting. You attacked them for the age of their forum character. A lot of people detach their forum character from their main. Doing so doesn't invalidate their views in any way.
やはり、お前は……笑顔が……イイ
The point here, that I also made clear, is that this is both for their game character and their forum character. My own take, reporting the bots is too hard. The point the rest of us are making is that age is totally irrelevant to the discussion.
Also, you have no way of knowing when that character was created. The player doesn't have the character's achievements displayed on Lodestone. The date listed under a poster is the date of the poster's first forum post and has nothing to do with their actual in game experience. My forum date shows as February 2018 but I made this particular character in Sept 2016 (you can check my achievements to see it) - and this was not the first character I ever created. It's just the first one I choose to stick to.
Age is irrelevant. Leave off or take your age hypocrisy elsewhere.
Of course you have a way of knowing when a character is created, just look at their serial number. And of course the age is of interest, because the character isn't old enough for the players claim to be correct. Unless, as I pointed out, that isn't the main character. The point the rest of us are making is that age is totally irrelevant to the discussion.

I also must say that you're way of reacting, both here and in other similar posts, makes one wonder if you are supporting the botting stuff yourself. I am not the first one to point that out either.
What I'm supporting is common sense and realism instead of conspiracy theories. I'm supporting thinking things through instead of knee-jerk reactions because you have a need to feel offended and/or victimized when things aren't to your personal satisfaction.Of course you have a way of knowing when a character is created, just look at their serial number. I'm supporting basic courtesy and decency when interacting with your fellow human beings, whether they are players or SE employees or even just a random stranger you encounter walking down the street.
The bot problem is in every MMO, and every MMO struggles to combat it. It is not a simple problem to solve like some want to believe or MMOs would have been rid of bots years ago. The fight goes on and SE is part of it even if some of you want to think they don't care and are ignoring it.
When it comes to the markets, SE can get rid of the bots and it's still not going to make you guys happy because bots aren't the major cause of the current market status. Too many sellers, especially ignorant sellers that don't understand what drives a healthy market, and not enough buyers is the cause.
Now that you can lay at SE's feet because they made it too easy to for players to level up crafting and gathering, then further reduced the difficulty of recipes compared to the power on available gear. You can HQ anything level 70 or below in 2 steps (3 steps for the level 70 master recipes). That's over 300 items crafted an hour if you have the mats on hand and empty inventory space on a retainer or FC chest to move items to when your character's inventory fills up. Master 8 recipes? They're just 19 steps, that's 50-60 an hour.
Of course the markets are in a mess. Players have unprecedented access they lacked in the past and more of those players have decided they want their piece of the marketboard gil pie.
Are some bots taking advantage? Sure, but get rid of the bots and you're not going to see a notable change. Most of the problem is caused by players who don't understand what it takes to have a healthy market.
I guess go on with your personal attacks, though. You don't seem to have a position you're capable of discussing constructively when attacking others who agree that bots are a problem is the best you can do.
