For caster DPS, I would either give them the same treatment as other DPS by removing MP for them, and make raising need some other kind of resource maybe.
Or I would at least remove Lucid Dreaming from them and make BLM's Manafont their new MP CD, because Lucid Dreaming is useless on BLM anyway.

Generally, I would remove MP from the jobs that don't use any, and for those that use it I would like the MO bar to be able to be placed separately from the HP bar as well.
Wrong thread, but hey I got that one too. Feel free to post about that there.

I'm against removing MP from anyone. I'd much rather jobs that currently don't use MP gained something that does use it. E.g.
DRG: Dragon Sight continually drains MP while it's active. Lifesurge regenerates a load of MP.
MNK: Anatman drains MP while active.
DNC: Improvisation drains MP while being used and Curing Waltz costs 1000 MP.
    Second Wind costs 500 MP

I would really like this if were implemented nicely. For some jobs, you would need to press your buttons to maintain your rotation, or you wouldn't be able to refresh the MP you need, like with BLM, PLD and DRK. But after they removed TP I don't think something like this will come... the job gauges are kind of the replacement for it, so instead of MP being a dead stat for most jobs, I'd rather they remove them.

Why is this the wrong thread exactly? I wrote about why Lucid Dreaming isn't bad on healers (as a response to others talking about healers/MP), why it is for BLM, how I would remove it from casters because of that, and some random idea about MP as an extra. It's actually more off topic to point out that this is the wrong thread for it. But feel free to point it out to like 70% of the posters here.

But hey, Lucid Dreaming is not useless other than on BLM, because it refreshes your MP, which you need to cast.

Of course you could remove it and have other skills or natural MP regen instead. But healers need something to refresh them on demand.

But that was in SB when tanking was good and everyone had to manage their enmity.
You mean when raiding had forced party comps because without Ninja Smokescreen the healers would get autoed to death after a heal check?

If I had a dollar for every time my NIN Shadewalkered me and Smokescreened our WAR during god kefka I would have like... several dollars. It was funny the first time but every time after ughhhhh.

We could accept that not all actions are designed to be equally useful at all levels of play and in all situations?

For me, Lucid Dreaming is the "Oh crap" button. I forget about it when I'm with a good group and it's not needed. I'm thankful for it when I'm with a bad group and those OH CRAP moments are happening on a regular basis. It's great if I'm soloing something while leveling as a healer so I can spam my DPS abilities without dropping my MP to zero.

It's perfectly fine for actions to have situational uses. Do you complain that Interject and Head Graze are useless most of the time, or are you happy you have them on those infrequent occasions they are useful?

Lucid Dreaming is fine for what it is - a tool ready to be used when there is need for it.

It's useful, but boring. With a longer CD and enmity reduction there was a least a little bit of a choice to be made about how and when to use it. Now it's just another button you press every 60 seconds.

I say this as someone with a great deal of enjoyment gained from watching their videos, but some people take NEST videos as the way they should play, ignoring that these are a group of friends who intentionally do blind prog and who intentionally do stuff like that for the entertainment value (both to themselves and the wider viewing audience).

For me its if a fight last 13 minutes and 12 seconds, well I pressed it 13 times, doesn't matter if the group is doing well or poorly. Nothing really effects how often I use it.

Interject and head graze are fine, the devs just need to add more occasions when its useful. The changes to silence just need to be more emphasized with future patches/expansion. It used to be quite bad in different ways but I like how the devs change it to its current state. This is why silence isnt commonly needed in older content.
