Would look really cool, but, as per Yoshi in one interview (can't really recall it) the current "stupid" engine of the game can not render more than 40 characters in the same place ....

Damnit forgot that one, but it would still look cool with 40 characters

Was never in a FFXI server merge but I heard the stories and seen the screenshots (and seen the people that merged to my server)

What is your problem with Server Merge and then transfers for those who want it?

When you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one.

No really, they probably don't want to waste the effort on such a trivial (and it is trivial) issue.

So many of you are missing the real problem here. The unknown server names aren't even that big of a deal...

Some people have legit reasons to be away from the game whether it's boot camp, sickness, or death in the family. They're not waiting for 2.0 so they'll be back as soon as they can, but since they're going to miss the deadline, they'll be tossed to a random server.

Tell me, how's that a good thing?

Well, because for starters, it cost about 10per month to have an active subscription. Which really, isn't a lot of money in the scheme of things. And while yes, people have legit reasons for currently choosing not to play the game, many of those same people wouldn't call the cable company and cancel their cable or internet because they are out of town for a month or two...they'd pay for it and move on.

Secondly, my hubby and his best friend use to play ffxi together. They knew each others passwords/account info and helped each other out occasionally. Like we paid his subscription for a couple months when he was between jobs etc. So if the issue is, they they ARE playing but out of town that week, maybe they can have a friend,loved one, neighbor, etc. do the dirty work for them. I mean, a little Real Life problem solving goes a long way. SE can't possibly be expected to make it perfect for everyone

Haha, maybe I am being a white knight for once. I guess it is cause I am bored all the time on my small server so I'm just glad it is here. However, I do find all these problems you guys have with the server merger trivial. Plus, it is very entertaining to watch this thread.

Tachi, its Guggy.. any idea where you and your ls are headed too? My friends and I on Lindblum are trying to decide a server. We should coordinate ^^
