Also it's not exclusive to Othard. That new fox in Idyllshire for Unreal trials is one.

What would the offspring of a miqo'te and Hrothgar look like?
While we know cross race are extremely rare they can still happen so be interested what that combo be like![]()
No i want Viera and Miqo'te! Those Bunnies need a tail xD

My biggest question is, would the merger of worlds to the source ever happen naturally? It's not out of the realm of possibility. So over the millennia are the worlds just going to merge themselves back together due to natural disasters or just due to mans own love of war, and when they do, would this bring back the ascians?
Also how many more worlds is it going to take before we become so put back together, so to speak, that someone's memory of what once was becomes strong enough to reawaken the realization and abilities of what we once were. And what will those people do with that information.

When is that stall in Gridania's market going to open?
I'm pretty sure the game, quests, and lorebooks give various explanations for undead and ghosts though. They're either souls which were prevented from traveling to the Lifestream, residual aetherial echos, manifestations of dark magic, or simply Voidsent. I mean if you think about it the Ascians themselves are just very advanced disembodied spirits. It's not meant to. It's meant to explain why the Japanese creators of the game didn't see any point in explaining them at all.
Consider ghosts, which are an actual enemy in the game. From what we know of the Lifestream, they shouldn't exist - when things die, their souls return to the Lifestream, are broken up, and return as new souls for newly born creatures. So where do ghosts fit into this, when ghosts are, in theory, the lost souls of the dead? We can come up with our own theories, but the game never really explains. It's just assumed that ghosts exist because this is a fantasy game which draws upon a smorgasbord of fantasy tropes. By the same token, auspices exist in the game because they, too, are a fantasy trope (and, naturally, they were introduced in the same expansion which introduced Eastern fantasy tropes). Because this trope is one unfamiliar to folks outside of the Far East, we're naturally curious about it and would like a more in-depth explanation - but as far as the Japanese are concerned, they are a completely ordinary fantasy phenomenon, and there's no more need to explain these guys than there is to explain ghosts.
It's not a satisfying answer, I know, for folks who want to dig into the lore, but I doubt the game is going to put any further effort into explaining how Auspices exist than they already have.
So, yes, they DO explain how ghosts exist, so I don't see why the Auspices get a pass. Most things in the lore have SOME sort of mechanical explanation, even if it's convoluted like some Primals or the Lucavi.

When is Lion going to take us on that boat ride? No, wait, wrong FF MMO :P Whoops!
Will Prishe's curse ever be broken, allowing her to fully grow up? No, again, shit wait. Wrong FF MMO
I never told Aphmau that in order to free Luzaf's soul, I had to swear mine away. Is she ever going to find out?... Hnnnngh!
What would happen if Atomos ate the Cloud of Darkness? I mean, Atomos eats/destroys doomed timelines, but Cloud of Darkness is supposedly going to destroy Vana'diel in every timeline so...
Will Nero ever swear on to be a full time good guy?
When are Haurchefant's men going to stop working out at Camp Dragonhead?
Will we ever get mentions of the Allagan technology that's in the Aery?
Will we ever have an uninterrupted dinner with any of the major NPCs?
Who put the bench at floor 200 of POTD and who planted the tree on floor 100 of HoH?

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
My assumption on the Auspices is that they're basically what natural primals would be. Creatures that have become godlike in power due to an abundance of aether gained over time, but can fall into destructive tendencies if not purified every so hundred years. In fact, it's possible quite a few of the Primals we've fought so far that are based on legends may have been auspices themselves. Think about it, a flaming lizard, a flying whale, a giant sea serpent...I'm pretty sure the game, quests, and lorebooks give various explanations for undead and ghosts though. They're either souls which were prevented from traveling to the Lifestream, residual aetherial echos, manifestations of dark magic, or simply Voidsent.
