My assumption on the Auspices is that they're basically what natural primals would be. Creatures that have become godlike in power due to an abundance of aether gained over time, but can fall into destructive tendencies if not purified every so hundred years. In fact, it's possible quite a few of the Primals we've fought so far that are based on legends may have been auspices themselves. Think about it, a flaming lizard, a flying whale, a giant sea serpent...

At the very least, Ifrit seems to be inspired, at least in part, by Lahabrea's Ifrita concept. Not to say there couldn't also be a giant lizard that serves as the basis of the myth of the Amal'jaa. We don't know much about Ifrita save her name and the fact she's a fire-type concept. The primal myths could be sourced from multiple different things including Allagan generals, Amaurotine concepts or Auspices.

Riffing on this, here is one: Is Lucia is in love with Aymeric? Was this the breaking point that caused her to flip sides? Maybe I got the vibe wrong, but I feel admiration for upheld ideals of Aymeric isn't enough to forsake your homeland unless it leads to more hopeless romantic situation.

Given Travachent's was found near where Amaurot should be I've assumed since ShB they were Amaurot relics. It would be nice to have info though.
