None of that has anything to do with why they hide server names, and make inactive players go to a random server.

Merge servers: problem solved.

Pretty simple, they are just doing it wrong. Not the first time they have bumbled the solution to a very simple problem.

I am going to go call my real friends right now and tell them that they'd better get over the recent death in their family right now and pay up to play because friendship via playing a game is far more important that grieving. Screw their expectations upon cancelling that they would be able to come back to their playing friends after they had everything sorted.

You might want to walk away from the computer and calm down. Anyways, there is a lot of time to get you and your friends organized. For those with extreme cases, they can wait for 2.0 to get back with there friends.

Or they can just scrap this idiotic plan and merge servers like normal.

Why are you "white knighting" this anyways? Can you give any reasoning to why you like it, or do you just feed off of others dissatisfaction?

Like 1 = Besaid
2 = Rabanastre
3 = Cornel etc...

I believe they will do something about the confusion.

dunno if it said on the US side but i remember the jp forums saying that the names of the servers will be picked by picking the 10 most popular server names of the current ones.

Haha, maybe I am being a white knight for once. I guess it is cause I am bored all the time on my small server so I'm just glad it is here. However, I do find all these problems you guys have with the server merger trivial. Plus, it is very entertaining to watch this thread.
