Honestly, I didn't even know this was a thing. At this point, there's really only two egi that we use, Garuda and Ifrit, since Titan is no longer a tanking pet. So, I can't see them adding glamours to them. But who knows.

Carby is too much of a mascot so I doubt they'd remove it altogether. Maybe keep it as a single default egi [that you can change color] and it 'evolves' when summoning the demis, now including Ifrit, Garuda and Titan? it'd shift its niche to involve more summonings without entirely overhaul the job /shrugDunno, but I had this theory that it's taking so long to actually hear something tangible on it because they are planning on removing Egis and making SMN more centered around different Demi summons... So an egi glamour system coming before 6.0 would be work for nothing.
It would be nice, in case this happens, that the egis and the carbys became cosmetic companions.

Why do you need official word? Just assume it's not happening, and be pleasantly surprised if they ever get around to it.
I doubt we'd get any more functionally unique egis.
If anything it'll be reduced down to two...
But I could see us getting some direct upgrades.
Personally I'd like some of the skills reskinned as brief summon skills.
Outburst > Thunderstorm
Painflare > Hailstorm
Tri-disastre > Gyre Spume
Devotion > Mooglesong
Then perhaps maybe direct egi upgrades:
Titan > Sephirot
Garuda > Sophia
Ifrit > Zurvan
With the formers becoming new glamour options.

Agreed, I've long advocated for more "summoning" based damage attacks but yeah, let us upgrade the dang egis if not.I doubt we'd get any more functionally unique egis.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
I've used Titan quite a few times just for the damage mitigation on fights. it's been pretty helpful, and it's still a fun pet to use. Ifrit is still the go-to, and Titan can be used, it's just situational.

Am I alone that I would rather the gameplay issues with the pets themselves be addressed before any additional egi glamours?
It's at the point that I wish they never would have implemented it. The lore itself is made out so that we can make an egi look however we want, and for some reason we only choose Carbuncle. Perhaps the idea was to satiate the nostalgia from losing the ability to summon him when we equip a SMN or SCH soulstone, in which case I wish the questline would have been set up in a way where we express a grieving as result of the detachment, and it is then we learn we can shape the Egi to our heart's desire, and the result of that is Carbuncle.
The devs underestimate the seeds they throw away. Some of them take root and grow into something like the egi issue of today. The way they worded that damn quest gave the majority players a continued and false hope that more glamours would be available, and now the devs have to own up to it, or deflect it when they get asked about it.

I don't really disagree that the pets in this game aren't the best. But SE has shown that they ether are not willing or cannot fix them. The least they could do it update egi glamours (since you know they stated I release that it would get updates every patch) so at least we can pretend they careAm I alone that I would rather the gameplay issues with the pets themselves be addressed before any additional egi glamours?

I still care. I want my little army of minions to have more options in how they look.
If SMN is getting a rework to make it a useless change, that at least would close the issue and let me not have to dream.
Hope hurts.
That is basically the main reason why I think a possible Beastmaster job is gonna be a Limited Job, with a pokemon-style alternative gameplay with pets.I don't really disagree that the pets in this game aren't the best.
