Please make Blue Mage a normal job

not useless per se, because somewhere down the line they can be tuned to have different attack type (physical, magical, unaspected) but atm they have similar potency and effect that it's practically the same thing. the only difference is probably 10 or 20 potency or lower cast time. Ideally we want to shave those off.
and i think It's definitely doable. given how little they have new contents this expansion(although it could be due to COVID), shaving some skills and adding a basic stuff won't be a problem i think. Especially when it's not really a brand new skills. They can just literally copy another caster and add blue mage skills-collecting mechanic if they want to.

We still don't know what skills they are going to give us with the new level cap and what contents that they will allow blue mage to do beside savage. It can be brand new skills to learn or can just upgrade the current skillsets. Not sure if they will make ultimate accessible for blue mage since they only given us little information from the live letter. If blue can do ultimate , there might be hope for blue to become a normal job

well for a start, they'll add the SB trials to the list since they do that in ARR and HW contents. my concern is there's mechanic like Susano'o where you need to mash button to hold the sword, because to my knowledge they only have diamondback as a mitigation and you can't do stuff while you're DB'd. they need to add some more skills where it's more flexible / similar to other roles. that or 1HP mechanic like white hole/kefka's mechanic. You can pull it off, just need extreme timing management (pom cure + white wind). otherwise yeah need more general skillset first, but i'm thrilled to see what they will bring this time.
