About new hairstyles

I'd love Gaia, Hilda, Yugiri, Lyse & Estiniens hair. Not weak imitations of their hairstyles but their actual hair available for every race. If clipping bothered me, I wouldn't request long hair.

Viera need other variations of short hair since the only short hair they have is... an ugly spikey hair- surprise, surprise. Viera also need Frans Ponytail & ear spots.
Hrothgar need more racial based hairstyles- long braids, mohawks, barbarian style up-do's & also suave up-do's with gold clasps & feathers

ALSO: We are in desperate need of short hairs that actually look good - I say that because almost all of the short hairs are terrible, variations of one another, or anime spikey & ugly.
I'd like hairstyles that are curly, braided, wavy. How about a decent bun? How about hairstyles with actual bangs (like Gaia & Lyse or Yugiri)
Another hairstyle contest would be nice but the generic, waifu anime type hairstyles would probably win.

I would like more "windblown" type hairstyles of different lengths. No spikey ones. We have enough spiky/cover one eye/superman bang hairstyles. I feel that something we are missing other than long hairstyles, is bun hairstyles. Messy buns, High buns, low buns, French Twists, more than 1 man bun, braided buns, large buns with and without bangs, top knots, buns with accessories. Normal and high ponytails. Gaia, Ysayle, Ryne's hair. Ashe, Rinoa, Squall, Seifer, Yuna (X), Fran's, Beatrix just to name a few. I hope that another contest rolls around soon, I'd like to submit my own idea for at least some hope to get something that can be worn and favored by both genders, and something that stands apart from what we've gotten thus far.

Expecting I'll get blasted for saying this, but I certainly do not mean to offend anyone with these certain words...but... I would love to see more masculine hairstyles added, because it seems to be that most of the recent hairstyles that have been added are vastly more feminine in appearance. Sure, we got the one new style added by default with Shadowbringers that looks like we just got out of the shower, but I can't think of anything else that's been added lately that's more suited for male characters than female. I'm sure this is because 98% of the people play female characters, so I should probably just stop hoping for anything at this point. Anyway, this goes for short or long styles, as most of the long styles are definitely geared more towards female characters, there are definitely ways of styling long hair to look more masculine than feminine that I would like to see too.

I agree with you whole heartedly, my question to you is what do you consider masculine hairstyles visually speaking?

Why NEW hairstyles after Viera implementation won't work for them?

Viera is basically just an Elezen head with ears more or less in the same place of a Miqo'te's, so what gives? It almost sounds like they are just taking advantage of the helm argument to avoid having work in 1 extra race when modelling hairstyles.

Clipping already happens in every long hairstyle if you happen to have any bigger armor element around your lower neck area... People just deal with them by either avoiding the hairstyle or avoiding that certain armor piece. I really can't see clipping as a feasible reason for them not to implement long hair, because they barely have physics to begin with.

+1 to wanting short masculine styles. There's not enough good ones. Give me a solid undercut or something that looks good and is short.

I wouldn't mind the clipping honestly, it's just so luxurious and any mishaps are immediately excused because of it's level of fabulousness.

I suspect it's not so much the clipping but the movement of it that's the issue. All the really long NPC hairs like Gaia or Yotsuyu are very rigid like a sheet or a heavy blanket, Fran's ponytail would look like a log swinging on the back of your head. Most hairs already don't have realistic movement, and that's okay IMO, but the extreme length would really magnify it. Especially in all the crazy combat animations.

That said though, I hope they figure something out to add more long styles even if it's clipped up like Hilda or Lyse. I'd even be happy with some cute chin length hair (like Mjrn's bob) or longer.

I kind of wished that the afro hairstyle had no sideburns when used on girls. Or at least we could get another afro without them. As for possible hairstyles, I'd really love Gaia's. Maybe they can release her outfit + hair after ShB... I wouldn't even mind the possible clipping, and tbh, the clipping problem actually happens more often in the shoulder area than in the back per se.

Ryne's outfit would be a nice thing too, although her hair seems already very similar to an available option.
