How is crossbreeding Jute and Tantalplant?

If you follow the link and go to crossbreeding and check Ivory's Advanced you'll see that you keep 3 Tantalplants and only the remaining 5 plants.

Note the guide specifies "compact" for players with access to only a single Deluxe Garden Patch.

If you have access to more than one, there are better methods.
