I think the only reason she stands out (was shown off on the patch site and has a minion) is because she's based on FFVs Lenna and they were pleased with her design.
There's no need to overthink these things.

If the point was for her to stand out, they'd put her at the end of the dungeon, not the middle, and give her dialog on the introductory cutscene, not put it in dialog boxes mid-fight which you can miss from being too focused on mechanics.
I know that a popularity poll for new jobs went out on these forums not that long ago and Chemist, Mystic Knight/Rune Knight/Rune Fencer, and Necro were pretty popular community wise and seeing as the devs do actually get some feedback from the more popular threads those seem on the most likely list to be considered
Mind you it was a player made strawpoll so take that how you will
I am all for a Necromancer Job. I just can't reconcile the idea of this dark, twisted, anathema to life that bends corpses to its will and raising the sorry bones of its helpless enemies, with it being a healer.
No amount of "Yeah but it transfers life force to allies to heal them", while I admit seems like fun gameplay, will make me accept the Necro aesthetic as a healer.
If you want to make a damage-into-dps healer that's absolutely fine, just stay away from Necromancer Name/aesthetics.
The most "edgy" I will go with healer design is something like Aulus Alsina's
mad scientist look. At least he still looks somewhat related to medicine.
That poll has been going for quite a while, probably long enough to be before they did Heroes Gauntlet, and from what I can recall, the top spots included Chemist, Geomancer, Mystic Knight, Thief, Berserker and Necromancer. (Plus Ranger and Corsair as well I think)I know that a popularity poll for new jobs went out on these forums not that long ago and Chemist, Mystic Knight/Rune Knight/Rune Fencer, and Necro were pretty popular community wise and seeing as the devs do actually get some feedback from the more popular threads those seem on the most likely list to be considered
Think of that what you will, but for me that's a point against the three in the dungeon, and a point in favour of Chemist, Geomancer and Mystic Knight. (Ranger and Corsair are unlikely for additional reasons)
It's as if they wanted to include those jobs in the game, but knew they were never going to make them into actual jobs...
No, I'm talking about her chat box stuff along with the trust convo in that fight.
What they say is the generic boss noise, neither of those 2 are made to sound like they have any agency beyond being summoned to kill something. Plus they don't get a minion nor were they used to promote the dng. You might want to clap back with "Well cheesecake!" and I'd say "They coulda made a cheesecake Thief or berserker and an old men Necro". They gave her special attention 1 way or another, simple as that.
She clearly stands out and was meant to .... and tbh it's kinda an obtuse convo to have with ME as I 1- don't think "necromancer" will be a job title and 2- Only see this as one of many things making me think some mage dealing with spiritual stuff is coming...
They knew she'd be popular and was proud of her design; that's why she has a minion. I mean when you look at her it's not hard to figure out why.
And again, her dialogue is no different. She's out to stop us because we're the Warrior of Darkness and that's it.
This. Exactly this. Not everyone plays with Trusts, and if you're going to use a boss of all things to hint at an upcoming job you're going to put it in a way that you're entire playerbase has to see it. They would have introduced her through an MSQ cutscene and made her the focal point of the dungeon as the final boss with an intro and defeat cutscene. They would have given her an actual name and given her a character beyond "evil Necromancer". They would have talked about her in the MSQ afterwards. People are jumping onto the Chemist train because the MSQ went out of its way to highlight Riki Tio and her wanting to fight with potions.
And my point wasn't 'BLM=Necromancer' my point was if people want a "gloomy/edgy caster" we've had one and it's been BLM this whole time. If people want a Necromancer Job specifically I don't see it happening.

I believe you're talking about this poll dated back in 2019? Which the top spots are as follows:
Honestly though in my opinion about the next jobs being released I don't believe that this list is the say all be all as it contains to many in the 1st place spot. If I had to guess and assume what might be the next job i'd have to guess the following jobs:1: Mystic Knight/Rune Fencer/Spellblade.
2: Chemist.
3: Time Mage.
4: Gunner/Fusilier.
5: Necromancer.
6: Beastmaster.
7: Geomancer.
8: Puppetmaster.
Necromancer. This has been talked about for a good while now ingame and has been picking up more traction with Shadowbringers content like in the Role Quests. So It really won't be of no real surprise if this becomes a job as it's been alluded to for far to long.Beastmaster.This one is abit iffy but I can see this becoming a job in the future as it's another minion type of role that would cater to those that like animals and would also allow for another job to have the requirement of handling mobs to obtain skills and such outside of BLU mages. Which would mean that parties of BLU and BSTM would be beneficial for both for obvious reasons.Time Mage. This is abit of a stretch but with the latest incidents that occurred in Shadowbringers it really won't be of a surprise to me if this became a future job as they are also known as "Dimensional Mages" as well and since we already have Black and White mages they would fit quite well in the roster of jobs, especially when we are in need of a 4th healer/caster role. I don't think Green Mages would ever be a thing since some of their spells are already being used by some existing jobs I believe.I'm open to any job though as SE seems to have a plan already set in motion for future jobs. Either way I love reading all the debates though on stuff like this.
Did somebody say turban guy!?

Same here, although i would like to see mystic knight tbh. All of the other jobs i really liked are in the game already. As far as that poll goes, technically the new machinist is basically puppet master, astrologian has time mage covered imo so the few jobs id take a crack at would be mystic knight chemist necromancer and beatmaster/Tamer. Necromancer, however has gotten a ton of traction since probably SB/HW(Edda from potd) even more lately. I know for a fact chemist has been talked about for the longest time ARR when people wanted a tp based healer and were shocked that the gun using job wasnt chemist. Ill give the team one thing, they DO really seem to add requested jobs in, even when they said in the past they wouldnt (Thank you whoever came to terms about RDM on the team) So its possible. I also don't know like if we will even get a 2nd job. HW time frame we got 4 new jobs within a few months (Ninja was added very end of 2,x) And maybe itll just take all their wits to come up with just a new healer, after some rebalancing and new stuff gets added. We all know it probably has to be a healer, it would be insane if not. Ideas about a necro like healer seem pretty cool. Chemist could be solid. I guess we will have to wait and see, though i love speculating.
