Odd.
I almost never have anyone mention my chosen job in farms, and I'm a SAM.
It's not really elitism (of course happens from time to time). Has more to do with WoW gearing, if you can't keep up or you are unlucky with drops finding a group will get harder. Why accepting that dude with "350 ILvL" when that other dude has "500 ILvL". Also, higher key groups are going to be way pickier with what classes they want for their party or if you have a certain drop or not (having the right piece of gear can boost your DPS a lot).I'll take more elitism if it means we get a form of difficult content that actually has replay value outside of just getting better gear that can't be used for anything other then ultimate raids (Which comparatively have even less replay value then Savage unless you want a full collection of weapons for whatever reason).
Then is also raid.io, generally useful sure, but can be a wall even for "entry" M+ keys. Right now requirements for a +10 are absurd when are easy to complete. I don't know, is one of those systems that people should try and understand before requesting it.
IMO what we need is more BA type of content. Something that we need to prepare and build up for the grand finalle.

Please for the love of god, don't bring the degenerate treadmill mechanics of WoW loot/M+ into this game. I quit Blizzard's pile of trash specifically because M+ poisoned every other element of the game in destroying crafting, pvp and raid rewards. I don't want to run the same dungeon a million times for the same reward with hurf durf bigger numbers.
The real problem is the absolutely rampant botting/RMT and evident misallocation of administration resources. No one should care about a streamer talking down on shitter dps more than robots breaking the market board.
I'll take repetable content that can advance my character over not having that content any time its offered.I don't want to run the same dungeon a million times for the same reward with hurf durf bigger numbers.
You can choose not to do it if its there, you can't choose to do it if its not.
I don't think that's what they're talking about specifically because that also exists in FFXIV, unless I just imagined my 3+ years of playing FFXIV where I repeat contents to progress my character, today being the latest example where I just upgraded my fending foot gear after repeating content.
There already is repeatable content that advances your character with the roulettes, exactly.
When people ask for M+, they're asking for an infinite treadmill and the entire game to be balanced around that infinite treadmill making gear available. This is the reason why WoW BFA is so spectacularly awful and why the new expansion looks like a dog turd on arrival.

- “Technical Limitations”
- Character customization needs updating
- Limited races left without being updated
- Limited housing
- Clicking a placard for hours on end to maybe get a house
- Market board and gathering bots largely left unchecked
- The mentor system
- Neglected achievement certificate updates
- Neglected GC rank updates
- Lack of updates for limited jobs
- Limited jobs (I personally feel they are just shells of their real potential and a waste of the developers limited time and effort)
- Limited dungeon releases. We used to get three, now we get one.
- Limited hairstyle releases. We used to get two or three for free at a time from the aesthetician, now we get one very infrequently, purchasable through mgp, sky crafters scrip, or as rare Eureka drops.
- Lack of long feminine hairstyles or manly short hairstyles in favor of androgynous hairstyles that can easily be equipped by both genders
- Lack of increasing the item limit for small, medium and large houses.
- General radio silence about healer and tank issues
- Mnk needs rework
- Bard lost a lot of its identity
- Healer homogenization and two button dps rotation
- Pvp was never too great but is generally left largely neglected
a couple more to the list. Also MNK is getting reworked in 5.4, after MNK mains were asking this since HW and technical limitations is what every game has to deal with so not XIV exclusive.- “Technical Limitations”

-Content stretching i.e. relic questline, big patch updates now going on 4+ months instead of 3* (I noticed this happening in SB years ago)
-Shift to glamour focus endgame has made gear more irrelevant since one lvl 1 glamour can cost as much as a full crafted set.
-Homogenization of tool kits, more specifically tanks and helaers
-Lack of depth by removing TP, unique tank/off-tank stances, etc (they kept MP even though half the jobs don't use it similar to TP)
-Shallow game play and no consequence to spamming one move anymore
-No personal accountability to playing which has led to more people entering content they are not ready for, getting carried, general lower player performance overall, i.e. PF trap farm/clear parties that can't get past phase 1 of a boss.
-Clear sellers, ERP, RMT spam and phishing getting more aggressive in shout, tell and PF
