And don't forget: These items were released at these prices during a huge economic recession with no end in sight for large swathes of the developed world.

I can assure you that there is nobody on this planet who gives less of a crap about the price of an optional online-only flying carpet than people who were struggling during the recession.
I don't know what you thought your point was.
Welp this topic yet again....

Every few months people come in about how expensive mog station is when it comes to optional items. But if you dig through the OF long enough for the threads that go over it, there's plenty here to suggest that the pricepoints arent that radical, and even that a lionshare of the items on the Mogstation are actually from previous events or specialty items (dyes or orchestrions as an example). Meaning most of mogstations listings are from previous events that happened in game where you couldve gotten them 'for free' should you have participated in the event.
But at the end of hte day, vote with your wallet. If you think it's to pricey, dont buy from the mogstation or wait til the sale goes on. If stuff doesnt sell, they drop prices (basic supply and demand). Trouble for you is that I think most people are fine with the price points.
I think they would probably make a lot more customers happy (and likely make more money too) by making it cheaper so it’s more accessible to more people. The labour put into making the cash shop items ended the second they were able to be purchased, so it’s not as if it actually costs them anything to sell to order, there’s also no need for considerations to be had about supply and demand, workers being paid to make these items etc. So releasing the items as if they were premium hand crafted clothes made to order IRL when they’re just a bunch of copy pasted pixels at this point Is questionable.
I'd be okay with it if they didn't leave certain systems to rot as if to increasingly force that added expense. When you purposely let problems accumulate to generate more money... that's an issue.
For all else, my experience doesn't depend on them. At worst, some are eyesores, but at least they're maybe funding something I'll maybe care about in game.
Oh, this topic. Again.
I like the prices the way they are, they make it so easy to decide I don't really want that optional item bad enough to shell out that kind of money for it, yet they aren't so high that the few items I actually wanted badly enough to pay for immediately trigger buyer's remorse.
Over the last six or so years I've see plenty of items where my immediate reaction was "yeah, that's something I want to buy" only to take a look at the price tag and decide "nah, not really".
The few I did get I mostly got on sale, with the exception of the Mun'gaek set which I got the minute it was available (because that hat has been in 80% of my glamours ever since).
I bought the $36 dollar mount.
I was happy with my purchase.
I don't regret it.
The End.
Wasn't there a thread from like a week ago about this
