Option to wear armour sets from different classes as Glamour for other classes

Weapon classes aside, if your character is able to wear the equipment on any of its classes, it should be able to glamour it.

This is how FFXI's glamour system works, and contrary to what many people playing this game seem to think, that game didn't break for letting a WHM glamour a BLM's AF. Don't get why AF should remain sacred. If you've actually leveled the other class to the point it can wear it, why shouldn't you be able to glamour it?

With all the people who go into the DF in event gear and swimsuits, the whole "maintaining class identity" argument has never, ever held up. Just let it go.

Make Glamour Licenses for having the necessary jobs leveled to glamour their associated gear. Then they can focus on making combat versions of crafter glams as dungeon loot. /sigh one day....maybe....

PS: For more argument on the topic, they have recycled original caster armors and gave them to striking/aiming sets for example. I can be a dancer looking like a caster. So that rule that people need to be their job to wear that armor type to identify the job is bullshit.

The release of these mimic sets was in direct response to players wanting to be able to cross glamour, and it's a case similar to releasing gender restrictions on bunny and maid attire where now that they've done it, they no longer have an excuse to keep imposing them on players. This is an argument that makes someone sound entitled. If the devs lift the restriction on a set, or release a copy usable by everyone, this does not obligate them to no longer use restrictions. That is absolutely ridiculous, especially when it comes to gear that is already released.

Your energy is better spent asking them to release more sets. The only rule I see is when the devs decide to put a restriction on a piece or set of gear. This means that they intend for no one else to wear it other than that role/gender/etc. Players who are in favor of these restrictions don't set the rule; they simply agree with it and are allowed to so do wither you like it or not.

Yeah nah. I worked my tail off for my savage gear and if I want to glamour that onto a different class to enjoy it and further diversify my appearance in a way that makes me happy while covering different roles, why shouldn't I be able to? And ya know what? YES, they SHOULD remove all gender locks at this point. People(and I'm fully aware that is not 'all' people) HATE THEM and every time they release new gear with gender locks, it causes a stink. There's zero reason to keep doing it when they've already seen people don't want it. I don't know why there's talk of what people are 'obligated' to do/not do. What is being done here is players ASKING for something, which is the point of these forums. To let the developers know what people would like to see.

The beautiful thing is, every single piece of gear you put on is a choice YOU make. So people asking for more freedom in their choice should in no way hinder YOU in what YOU want to wear. Saying 'no, I don't think people should have more options' isn't a great look. Just saying.

I agree for removing class locks. Heck, a bunch of dungeons are just the same gear sets class swapped, like the Filibuster vs Royal Volunteer. However! I think they should only do it for "type" sets rather than "job" sets. Maybe it's a weird line to draw, but I like that they have the iconic job sets at 50/60/70/80 and it might be nice to keep them exclusive as a compromise for the people who think a class should look a certain way. No black mage running around in full Ebers. Class identity can be maintained through actual class gear, considering the fact that I can already put my gunbreaker in a robe and my white mage in full plate through glamour gear.

A few people have mentioned removing the gender restrictions as well, and I'd love to see that, though I'm a little worried it would come at the expense of existing models. Ideally there would be a way to choose (for example, people with male characters being able to get dresses or people with female ones preferring the more modest long coats), perhaps through a vendor the same way you can exchange Ceremony gear?

If you can wear it, you should be able to glam it.

There are so many armor sets that shares roles already and that sharing is determined in no particular manner.
Sometimes it's tank and drg, then it is tank and melee, tank and ranged, tank and caster and tank and healer...

Only exception would the the AF outfits.

What they could do is release a duplicate item with the genders flipped.

The real reason they don't do this is likely simple, if they made glams cross role, they wouldnt be able to repackage gear models but with different class restrictions as loot.

However, they could still repackage the outfits with more variances with accessories added/removed like the shisui set, or provide a different dye setup.

Pls SE at make AF gear usable for all classes in the same role.
If i like to use all tanks all the time, i have to use macros that work only in certain places (witch means i have to tp just for a glam lol). And i'd just like to use m'y warrior AF gear on my gnb because why not ? It's an armor, i farmed for it, let me use it without problems !!

I'm always up for more glamour option. Only gear thats should be locked is the AF gear in my opinion,

i think its more efficient to write an "apply to all jobs" condition for the glamour toilet once than it is to fish up old gear, retexture it and then reassign it to another role in a random ass dungeon every other patch.

Because they like to throw the community a bone once in a while with something nice the players can enjoy themselves with.
But it seems this keeps being mistaken as a reason to demand to take the whole body from the hand that SE is offering here with such things.

Hence asking for more options is the better choice.
