Because glamouring a pet is a good sign the system isn't healthy as the pet itself doesn't matter anymore.

I disagree.
Especially since what you said implies that every single pet has to possess an unique niche to fulfill.
And given how many Primals/Eikons there are in-game (to make Egis/Trances/Demis out of), that's just unrealistic.

On a fundamental level, we are already covered when it comes to pet "roles" (a "Caster", a "Support" and an "Attacker").
So what we really need (and we're missing) are the remaining ones we've been waiting for since ARR, which they could be implemented through glamouring.

At this point I really want the egis to go away and the demi system expanded on.

Hard disagree on removing Egis.
I still think they have a place in this game, and ShB proved that with some further tweaking it can be done.

Expanding on the Trance/Demi system is good, though.

And Carbuncle glamours could stay the same or go the way of Eos/Selene and have 3 spells where you only set one of them to bar.

That'd be unnecessary clutter.
Something that a dedicated (glamour-based) UI window would be able to handle instead.
