He played on my computer, and I on his for a time, and he had the 90002 error, while I did not. He also uses the non-Steamworks version and I use Steam, so that also narrows it down to something very localized to my end. (By which I mean it clearly has nothing to do with Steamworks or a difference between versions.)
I have also tried once again scrubbing and reinstalling the game, still having 90k2 disconnects.

Next thing I'm trying. I saw a thing that said that you can disable uPnP and that might help. So I went into the config and noticed... the uPnP is using a port that isn't even covered in the ports that tech support said I should have open. So... I'm opening that port now. If that doesn't work, I'll try disabling uPnP. After that... idk, I'll keep an eye out here.
Edit 1: Enabling the uPnP port did not help. Disabling uPnP via config.
Edit 2: Disabled uPnP, still disconnected.

I've been trying to deal with this issue, but it's been incredibly bad today. I was in Malikah's Well, and I 90002ed 3 times before the first boss (4th time during the first boss). I gave up at that point. Nothing else is disconnecting when this happens (discord, netflix, etc). No lag or hiccups in game before/during this problem, either. Also, it's only been happening since 5.3's release for me. Did all the troubleshooting steps the reps have posted over and over on this forum, and it hasn't helped. Really not sure what else to do at this point, since it seems reps stop posting after they've given the basic troubleshooting steps.
can you help me try one thing.. on the Router side, swap your network cable port with your spouse's port. So basically his computer's network cable will be plugged into your router's old port which your current computer is using, and your computer would be using his router port.Next thing I'm trying. I also know it is not the installation files causing this... something else is causing these conflicts/disconnects. It may not necessary mean network related too I find.
What antivirus/anti malware software do you have installed?
Honestly, I didn't have much disconnects prior to 5.3. After 5.3, I am getting these a lot more frequent. At first, I thought it was network related, but I am starting to think while network could potentially cause 90002, it may be something else lurking. Square Enix has offered most of us ZERO help. Except giving us generic messages which is complete useless. At the end, we get brushed off that it is ISP issue when no one else has issues playing any other game than FF14.I've been trying to deal with this issue, but it's been incredibly bad today. So here is what I want everyone on this forum post to do, we need to work together, and try to figure out how to lower these disconnects ourselves.
So Kelly has done extensive tests already, mostly on networking side ( including VPN ), network cable, network card and still has disconnects. So if Kelly does that one last test ( swapping the port with spouse on the router and still disconnects ), I think it should be fair to say we can lower the networking aspect to potentially causing a lot of 90002.
Next thing we should start doing is gathering some information from all the affect members about windows 10 build version, software that starts up on boot, what antivirus/anti malware, which video card and slowly see if we can find some potential match in configuration that might help us figure out how to lower the 90002 disconnects. Having configurations and apps that start up on computers that don't have 90002 disconnects may also help.
hmm something strange I am still scratching my head on. While going through my program/services startup list. I noticed that my windows defender firewall is running... Strange because when you check windows defender settings, it says it is managed by norton. But yet I am running the norton firewall as well? I saw FF14 allow rules were not in the windows defender firewall settings for in/out bound. I added them.. going to retest and see if it helps with my 90002.

I thank you for your advice, but I have already tried this to no avail. We aren't using a router (or rather, not a separate device from the modem) either. So it's just the one box. As for the antivirus/antimalware, I'm running Malwarebytes Premium, but to be honest I had kind of forgotten to reinstall it following a reinstallation of Windows 6 months ago, so I don't believe the two are related. I have also made sure the game has exceptions/permissions related to both mbam and Windows Defender.can you help me try one thing.. on the Router side, swap your network cable port with your spouse's port. I've 90k'd again this morning, sadly.

se needs to get off there butt and do something this is getting bad and paying for something that cant be used is not right this patch that is comming today who knows what gonna happen next
I have both Norton and Malwarebytes installed.. Malwarebytes updated roughly when 5.3 came out for me.I thank you for your advice, but I have already tried this to no avail. So far I haven't gotten disconnects after adding into Windows Defender firewall exceptions for Ff14 launcher, boot and dx11 for both inbound and outbound. Malwarebytes I also always had program exception for the same in there too. However because as you know, 90002 is random, I need more time to see if it really did get better or not
