conquest is basically the frontlineI am just bumping this thread again to ask those who played FFXI back many years ago if they think Conquest could work in a future expansion? For those who haven't heard of Conquest, would you prefer more open world content to small instances/raids etc? I know I do, but to each their own.

Personally, I would like SE to consider creating a system similar to Conquest as I think it would make the open world more interesting for those of us who prefere to do open world content. I haven't thought that much what the rewards could be, but my idea is that it could offer more competetive insentives to solo and small groups. Perhaps the reward for some could be a leaderboard (seasonal) to display the top players/guilds/continents.
What do you think to these other suggestions:
Campaign: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Campaign
Behest: https://ffxiv.gamepedia.com/Behest
campaign seems akin to bosja but we will see
and behest is just hunts
lol, no
Conquest isn't pvp, and Frontline is just an instance with no consequence on anything.
Bozja will just be another instance like Eureka with no consequence on anything too.
Conquest, Besieged, Campaign and Colonisation are all server-wide, persistent, dynamic and open world systems (not just small event or instance), each involving multiple forms of content (small fight, big fight, craft, low level, high level, etc.)
(conquest is the simplest of the 4, though)

The main argument for this kind of system is that they're the motivation to build a MMO in the first place. Otherwise, like the current FFXIV, we just got a glorified chat-room with a unorganised heap of solo-game content of lower quality.

There was a lovely mmorpg called Wakfu which started out promoting this kind of dynamic open world and the devs eventually got lazy and siphoned everyone into dungeons. Dungeons in and of itself are not a problem but when they put all end game resources into making more and more of them instead of putting as much effort into the open world that's when you have a big problem. The open world activities are real adventures, it's where acts of heroism and tales come out of. Bozja is definitely heading in that direction but it needs to be something to be done outside of "eureka/bozja" as well. They can start just with this.lol, no
