That's hot. Well done, especially given all the soothing you must have had to do with the placement of everything lol. Well done with out, but the patience garners extra appreciation- sanity was spent as a currency here lol.

On one hand I get the housing frustration. While not with housing per se, I certainly can relate to investing without return or reward. That doesn't make it a good thing though. I learned some valuable lessons from some hard truths with those investments.
While I am not saying to not invest the time into attempting to get into a home. If you do manage to get one that time spent will be well worth it. However, you have to be fully aware that this time sink is a pretty big risk and may, and likely will result in no return. Griping about the housing system as is won't do you much good, and that time, which I am sure you see as valuable; should be evaluated to see if there might be more fruitful ways to be spending it while in game.
Anywho, best of luck to all those out there seeking to build a nest. If you get one, take full advantage of it![]()
I suck at decorating, so I stick with my FC's house.

Daaamn look at all this.
I know your glam game is top, but I'm pretty floored by what you do with your house too.
If it's not a hassle, would you be willing to put up a vid of you walking through your house?
As you mentioned, the unique geography of your house can make it challenging to take pics.

I'll be honest now, have you considered moving to a less populated server? Balmung is one of the most crowded worlds in the game.I do like the other content well enough, though not as much as other games I've played in the past. For me it's the vast wealth of character customization options (including the housing system) that sets FFXIV apart from the pack. It's also just constantly being reminded that the content is inaccessible that kills my mood.

I'll admit, my house is not entirely unique, my loft setup was inspired by this walkthrough:Daaamn look at all this.

I differentiated by being more symmetrical and because I still use my basement as an onsen inn and thus I had to work with a lower item count. I also put more focus on my shops.

Housing demolition timer is a dumb idea to begin with, honestly.
if the elder scrolls online and runescape can figure out how to let everyone own their own house then surely the FF14 devs can figure it out too
but lets not get our hopes up

Sure certain members of the Runescape player base can have a house, but the housing system is immensely crude. Honestly an FFXIV apartment offers you far more than a whole Runescape house.

How about if they made the house watcher npc guy tell you the total number of plots currently available on the datacenter and which worlds they are on. Then if you visit the world with vacant plots and buy one, it automatically changes your home world to that world and waives the transfer fee. And the transaction fails if you have some condition that would prevent you changing home world.
That way the blame can be shifted to the players for staying on a congested world while the npc is telling you houses are readily available elsewhere. And if the entire datacenter is full I guess people just need to share with tenancy and fc estates. Promote the feature with a campaign period, receive gold feather or something for performing some sort of action as a tenant of a friend's plot.
