Should I let the people who HAVE the money to get a gtx 580 for $525 not get a way better card for $175 more? Stop buying cheeseburgers and maybe you could afford something nice.. or better yet go to work or school and learn how to do something useful that warrants you having nice things.. LoL!! I guess that was a little bit presumptuous me ^^ I just got upset that I tried to make an informative post to the people considering buying a GTX 580, because the way I look at it is if you have $525 to spend on a video card chance are you have $699 to spend on one that is almost twice as good. Then I got trolled. I am entitled to my own opinions though, and my am a firm believer that FFXIV got the majority of FFXI's trash. FFXI was never like this.

Sadly when you look at the core clock all the Gtx 590 is really is 2x GTX 470 tossed into 1 card to run SLI mode

LoL it is under clocked quite a bit, but I imagine that would leave more room for OC? I don't think it has fared as well as the 6990 which has had its own problems but still a powerful card.

A single GTX 460 Does NOT play this game maxed out with no sweat... well maybe on 1024X768...

i have 2 GTX460, and during the open beta i only used one card due to SLI problems around that time.
the gtx460, which is easily OC'd without making the card suffer can play the game really well on high graphics.

you can play on 1920x1080 with 2xAA, draw distance at 8&5, standard shadows & high textures and without DoF and the only graphic lag you'll notice is in high populated areas (adv. guild is the best example), but still staying above 25 FPS.
that were my settings during OB, and currently the game runs ALOT better then during OB with less loading on the screen thanks to reduced character load and multiple servers controling high populated servers.

of course, anyone who has the money tho, go for the most expensive.
there must be a reason for the price i guess, lol.
if i had the money i'd probably run some quad sli shit myself haha.
