The thing that most bothers me is that this is an iconic mount, it is the carriage that bring us to Eorzea. I'm ok with completely new/past event mounts been added, but this should have been an ingame reward.

Well, I have 0 cash shop mounts, 1 wedding chocobo, and yet somehow I still have 107 non-mogstation mounts.

Perfect time to release a ridiculously priced Mount SE! I (and so many others) are practically swimming in cash after being furloughed, laid off or worse due to the worldwide pandemic ravaging most countries, and losing a huge chunk of my income makes it an even more enticing item to get! You was quick to remind us how patient and understanding we should be to help you take more time on patch 5.3 due to this pandemic, so thank you for repaying us like this In these dark, difficult times. It’s important to stand in solidarity with your fellow man, so how about seeing a whole server full of these premium mounts to remind us all that we’re all struggling in this financial catastrophe together.

Now I can’t wait to see the whales who have more money than sense and the bootlickers brigade hiss and spit at us poor plebeians for daring to criticise and mock how ridiculously bad taste the price and timing of this Mount being added to the store is. They might as well add some SE Crysta(l) Water to the store for £99 a bottle, what better way to support this small indie company than partake of the finest tap water money can buy?

I mean, its in the store. So it'll be there till you actually can afford it. It might even be on sale. Calm down?


I didn't know this mount was a thing till this post. Now I want one. Not at $35, but I want it. Looking forward to the sale in a few months.

That makes 18 mogstation exclusive mounts, it seems. Well, 19 if you're counting the motorcycle since it was a fanfest reward and never in-game attainable too. 1 in ARR, 4 in HW, 8 in SB, 5 so far for ShB (which puts us right at the same amount per-patch as SB). Well, least they didn't go up. Now they're just getting more expensive.

I would hardly call one account wide, 4 seater mount learning from BDO. If they want you to pay $35 for one outfit then they've reached BDO. People always freak out over cash shop stuff like no other MMO has one and that SE should be ashamed of themselves. It's stupid.

He isn't inherently wrong though. You aren't just criticising SE but mocking everyone else who does not share your opinion. Say this carriage mount is the only mogstation purchase someone makes all year; their splurge if you will. 36/12 is $3, or the price of two chocolate bars a month. For a good chunk of people that price isn't something they'll bat an eyelash over. Why is it any business of yours how they spend their money? People "waste" money on all sorts of luxury things, be it going out to fancy restaurants, clothes (which have an insane mark up, by the way) and so forth.

All that aside, while it isn't "free" in the technical sense. Our subscription covers the four month updates we receive which is a rarity for MMOs. WoW updates once a year; BDO will wind up costing you more if you want to indulge in any of its activities despite being "free to play". Just because there's a global pandemic doesn't mean SE has any obligation to give us a mount. Would it be nice? Sure. But them opting not to do so doesn't suddenly make them the devil either.

But I'm just a boot-licker, right? Because I choose to spend my money on things I want. FYI, I haven't purchased this mount nor do I intend to. I just don't care if others do.
