It worked perfectly fine in other MMOs that uses a 'stand and cast' system (moving reduces potency greatly in some) it'll work perfectly fine here.

other games were also not as fast paced nor had battles that require movement to complete in a set time frame. darkhold runs to get the final chest for example.
for the movement to stop casting they will have to go back to more of the base tank and spank mobs that people are sick of doing over and over. i, for one, enjoyed the more involved gameplay designs that are possible with the moving being involved. i'm not saying that it won't work, but i am saying it will not work with some of the content types the game has been using and those will have to be altered.

i haven't ever played any MMO before this that let you run and cast (outside of instants). the only reason i'm not annoyed by that in this game is that i worry making us stand still to cast is bad because of the 3-4 second server delay.
because,
1. yes, just moving canceling spellcasting will make it easier to avoid eruptions and crap at ifrit- assuming the canceling is instant. if moving cancels but still triggers that slight action lock/delay like it does now, people are still gonna die
2. waiting for the server to recognize you've stopped moving so you can start casting again is going to be the death of a lot of people, and a very frustrating experience for healers. if they can make it work so server lag doesn't factor in somehow, great. but otherwise, for *this* game, it seems like a bad idea.
i hope they implement it well, but i'm skeptical.

what i am saying though is that events like darkhold that gives bonuses for moving through and not even fighting the mobs will become impossible to add. i wasn't saying it was a good or bad thing to not have those types of items again. i was just saying those type of things would become a thing of the past with the changes.
