    Standing and Casting

    I see how it will work for ifrit.

    Moogle arena isn't THAT big, and we mostly try to stand and cast for mp atm.

    CHOCOBO ESCORT MOBS POP MOVING ALREADY AND BEELINE FOR THE CHOCOBOS
    Do any of:
    -lower resonance recast
    -lower flash(ga) recast for GLA
    -extend our range
    -make a cast finish if the mob was in range when you started the cast
    -make chocobo escort mobs pause longer when they pop
    -give more jobs aoe claim
    -best of all: DONT MAKE RUNNING INTERUPT US.......


    do whatever you want for PvP mr. yoshi p, cuz i won't bother with the waste of resources they will be, just don't make it ruin my PvE fun, if i want PvP i'll go camp in a corner with a sniper rifle and pretend it took skill

    If you have 3 people with instant cast AoE type abilities for Caravan, then you should not be having problems. Everytime we run with 3 good THMs, we have never let the Chocobos get touched.

    I don't think anything currently in the game actually requires moving while casting, but I can think of many situations that will end up being a bit more annoying to deal with without it.

    It worked perfectly fine in other MMOs that uses a 'stand and cast' system (moving reduces potency greatly in some) it'll work perfectly fine here.

    other games were also not as fast paced nor had battles that require movement to complete in a set time frame. darkhold runs to get the final chest for example.

    for the movement to stop casting they will have to go back to more of the base tank and spank mobs that people are sick of doing over and over. i, for one, enjoyed the more involved gameplay designs that are possible with the moving being involved. i'm not saying that it won't work, but i am saying it will not work with some of the content types the game has been using and those will have to be altered.

    casting is not using feet tho. I still don't understand why people can cancel spell by moving...
    It's not fun to bring inconvenient for 1% of time that miss press spell.
    hopefully they have an ON/Off function, so players can choose.

    Maybe casting is like basketball?

    So only THM can do caravan? Also their mp runs out fast, if you cant kill if before your mp is gone, you'll lose resting time for more incoming mobs.

    I guess we can't trio caravan anymore.

    I seriously hope they have tested this. Getting 6+ for caravan is still pretty rare. Of course server merge will put my footi in my mouth, and it will be camped like Behest was.

    GC leves are 15minutes and less seals, I'm all 50's, so it's moogle, ifrit, caravan, farm, craft, and boom. That's 14 atm.

    Again, really hope they think it through. Especially with their laggy servers.

    I recall Yoshi saying that it will not cancel the spell, rather interrupt the casting progress and thus resume once the player is stationary.

    because,
    1. yes, just moving canceling spellcasting will make it easier to avoid eruptions and crap at ifrit- assuming the canceling is instant. if moving cancels but still triggers that slight action lock/delay like it does now, people are still gonna die

    2. waiting for the server to recognize you've stopped moving so you can start casting again is going to be the death of a lot of people, and a very frustrating experience for healers. if they can make it work so server lag doesn't factor in somehow, great. but otherwise, for *this* game, it seems like a bad idea.

    i hope they implement it well, but i'm skeptical.

    all i am saying is that some games are slower than what this game is. yes, some games have a faster system. i am not disputing that.

    what i am saying though is that events like darkhold that gives bonuses for moving through and not even fighting the mobs will become impossible to add. i wasn't saying it was a good or bad thing to not have those types of items again. i was just saying those type of things would become a thing of the past with the changes.
