Please check my last post in the ''Post your Rig'' thread, i need an answer. It's about video card but I just don't want to post the same thing twice.
Dude, where's my chocobo?
This card is a little too much for the average person.
If you're into crazy folding or maybe some designs work I guess its ok.
But for regular gaming a 560 ti or a 570 are more than enough.
I've yet to fully utilize my SLI 470s on any of my games lol.
I dunno wtf you guys have against people with money.. Should I feel bad that I have a nice system? Should I let the people who HAVE the money to get a gtx 580 for $525 not get a way better card for $175 more? Stop buying cheeseburgers and maybe you could afford something nice.. or better yet go to work or school and learn how to do something useful that warrants you having nice things.. I swear the people in this forum remind me of trailer trash sometimes...
Thats because you CPU is probably holding you back.
You talk about throwing away money... then you say your going to get Alienware... get a clue man..same guy who brags in another post about his computer, my laptop is a cheapie toshiba, radeon 4200 int., 4g ram and 250 hd, plays the game decent at med settings, only real lag I get is when it rains. I plan on getting an alienware mx 11 which they run the core comp all the time on sale for 599. with upgrades is about 800. only people with a complex needs a 700 dollar video card that games are not even using its full video power yet, and when the day comes the video card has dropped to 150.
I do work and I do have money, I dont need to brag how I wasted money on a forum to make myself feel like a big man, 700 dollars for a v-card is a waste of money, especially when a lesser card will more then do the work,I dunno wtf you guys have against people with money.. I guess you are right. Me personally I wouldn't buy a dual gpu card. I would feel quite bad though if I didnt tell the people who said they were going out to get 580's about the 590. Considering I told them the 580 would be a great idea. All the reasons you said are pretty spot on. As far as the 590 goes it is suppose to be quite quiet and heat is suppose to be in check. As far as the other two issues go yeah you're right. It's not really a "Dual GTX 580", its just 2 GF110 GPU's on one PCB. Due to the low clock speeds the Performance is closer to 2 GTX 570's in SLI. I would stay away from this card, especially for FFXIV. A single GTX580 is still the better choice in my opinion as dual GPU cards have more disadvantages than benefits (Heat, Noise, poor OC potential, no option for 3rd pt cooling etc.).

who's bragging? Are you my keeper? You decide what is a waste of money for me? When did I say I feel like a "big man"? Some people like nice things, and even 1 GTX 580 will not run this game on full 60frams at 1920X1080, not even on 720P you dont believe me? ask someone that has one.
Besides there are A LOT more expensive HOBBIES that people have then computers.. so I dont get where you coming from.
