Add more content, add more jobs, add more end game, more armors, give us costumes and a costume slot (so we can wear the costume but still have on the armor..like in ether saga) =P
but according to what the dev's said most of the stuff that needs to be added will be in 2.0 ^_^
they should pick up more elements that make a good RPG rather than MMO for once.
players demand content, that still doesn't mean it should be slapped out in a bad shape tho.the quests to enter a battlefield should offer interesting stories even when repeated, and the dungeons should be filled with dangerous enemies and traps, rather than a mob of monsters that can easily be passed by simply running away from them.
time sinks are awful but keep an MMO alive when build up right, but FFXIV's time sinks are just plain and stupid grinds and repeated boss fights.they should seriously start thinking of this game more like an final fantasy and less like an MMO.
i can't give the right or wrong feedback, as i belive as an game developer they should know how to make a game great, especially being an final fantasy game.
Truth? Oh right, you were in the office with him when he was making every little detailed decision. The day Naoki Yoshida accomplishes half as much as Hiromichi Tanaka has in his career, i'll care what he has to say.
That's not to say Tanaka shouldn't have A LOT of blame for what has happened, but I am tired of having this argument all you have to do is look at the interviews with Tanaka and Sage Sundi weeks and months before the release to know they were not satisfied with what was coming. Someone else pushed them to release the game.
Go with player run companies.
Housing, furnishing, gardening, mount raising, ship building, supply trade.
Build as much versatility as possible into Linkshell run companies.
Take it as far as Linkshell run TOWNS that other players may enter and then it just reaches a level of greater awesome still.

Make it happen.
This.
I actually had a very similar thought and was coming here to hash it out, but searched to see if anyone had mentioned it already.
I don't know how other games do it, but I would assume instead of cluttering up the main game world they could give free companies their own instanced neighborhoods once they reach certain size or other requirements (to prevent random ones cluttering the server).
Once you're part of a neighborhood:
- Rent a residence or buy one for outrageous amounts of gil = great gil sink.
- Property taxes for more gil sink, but let a portion of it go back to the free company to use for improvements or ???
- Let crafters and gatherers make said improvements
- Let other company members tend your chocobos/gardens while you're away to keep them alive but not guide their development.
- Give a reason to make all these improvements beyond looking neat. Like being able to grow/produce rare materials for synths/improvements that can't be gotten elsewhere.
- Not sure if I'd want the whole server to have access. Perhaps give us the option to make the neighborhood public or gated to prevent non members from entering.
etc etc.
Yes, it's very farmville/the sims-esque, but it seems like it could be a fun time sink when we're all sick of grinding, it builds community and promotes people sticking to a company/ls long term, and it gives crafters/gatherers a fresh new use now that repairs are largely a joke. It would be casual friendly-ish, it gives us something to do with our gil, and gives us something else to do besides got-the-latest-primal-drop-lol-now-what?
Please tell me the devs already had all of these ideas and it's coming in 2.0?![]()
we were talking about this in voice chat last night. i think everyone that was in there agreed with some things we would love to see.
1 add some long term goals.
- an area where there's multiple nm's that are popped only after you have completed pop requirements.
- each nm would have a chance to drop a rare item.
- an example of a rare drop would be an ability that would allow you to attach a single piece of materia to one piece of your u/u gear
- that ability would only have like a 25% or so chance of attaching that materia.
- have another nm inside that area that would drop a piece or rare materia that could only be attached to u/u gear
have each nm in that area be where it would be a nm you wanted to beat, but it would also make the u/u content become viable again. say you tried to attach a piece of materia to your ifrit's bow and blew it up then you would want to go do ifrit again to get a new bow. say another nm later on would allow a chance for a second materia slot to be added to u/u gear. how many hours would you personally spend trying to get those drops and get materia added to your primal loots.
2. fun aspects.
- add a trip from the airship docks to an island where a golden saucer type arena was located.
- have multiple different types of mini games there that people could do during the slow times of the day so they can have fun
- a card game in which you got cards off the monsters you killed or collected in the game. (yes, tetra master/triple triad style)
- it could be done with the ffxiv theme and when you start off you can choose between the 3 beastmen tribes and it would limit the types of mobs you could collect.
- once you completed one beastmen deck you could then choose to grab a second beastmen tribe.
there's many of these small type items that could be added, but i feel the biggest thing missing from xiv is the fun factor and those would go a long way towards adding them. i think this is the type of content that would be great to look over the older ff titles and pull things people loved off of them and put in aspects of them with a mmo and xiv type spin to them. it would also give both the hardcore and casual players something to do during those down times when they usually just get bored and sign out.
3 merge the servers with low population
- at this point when the new dungeons come out no matter how great they are there's some servers that will not be able to do them.
- on my server there's usually a total of 30-50 english speaking players online from ranks 1-50 during na prime time.
- it is almost impossible to get a group together as just a basic pickup party to do anything and the ls's have died to where multiple ls's have to group with other ls's to even get an event done.
- i can understand the priorities are geting the patch out, but when you look at some servers no matter if it comes out or not there's not enough people on to do it.
if the patch came out today my server would be lucky to have a group running it because the population has went down that far. i understand for the larger servers the priority is content, but the smaller servers cannot even get a group to do content when its released. the priority on those servers are getting enough people to be able to even attempt the content.
4. open/instanced content
- as stated before by someone else i loved tanaka's open and instanced content combination with the leve system.
- i'm not saying i like leves, but the system they used could have been expanded upon big time.
- have nm's that have pop items in open world where once you pop it and engage others can view the battle, but not get involved.
- i'm sure not everyone did, but i know i sat and watched alot of nm battles ls's had early in the game.
- those allowed me to watch for things they did which would help me become a better player.
- allow those popped nm's to be able to be spawned and nobody could see or attack it until the group that popped it engaged it.
- those mobs would become visible and you could watch those battles, but it would not be able to be attacked outside of the party involved in the fight.
- when they pop a mob in the area they could have like a big weather change or something
you could be in uldah and someone gets the items and pops the mob over by the golden bazaar and all of thanlan has a weather change and everyone would be like "ohhhhh someone popped mobx let's go watch the fight." to me it would just add more of you actually accomplished something
** i know it was tl:dr, but the op did ask about what we would like to see added so i wanted to add some details on what i'd like to see eventually added and some points of why i wanted to see each one.
