    1. Selene got completely deleted, she's now a glorified glamour
    2. The fairy has extremely low potency and takes your gcds to do things- pet commands are almost pointless. Seraph is a repackaged Rouse but incredibly glitchy (ghosting, double casting, a crippling healing bug that only just got fixed, faulty timer)
    3. At the start of 5.0 Energy drain was deleted, and was only added back begrudgingly because it broke the job
    4. Dps kit and support kit got completely removed. Excessive homogenisation and skill cutting for no discernable reason other than SE wants pure healing which is not fit for ff14's gameplay, playerbase and lore.
    5. Art of War and most of its shield potencies are shit. Though shields in general suck this expansion
    6. The levelling kit is awful, when you unlock scholar now, your hotbar empties. It doesn't even remotely fill until 60
    7. Most of its new skills are repackaged old or removed skills. While this is an unfortunate part of shadowbringers, its especially notable on scholar

    This 100%. I'm getting really tired of having my abilities removed and then "given back" to me later as a "new" ability. And it's not only on SCH, SE has blatantly done this on multiple jobs.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Thanks! I only started to play SCH again this expansion (I main WHM and wanted a second healer for some variety and dislike the new AST cards). I think in SB I once used AST in Seiryu or Suzaku ex, I remember how we used Selene for Fey Wind pre-pull or so?

    One thing that got better though is that you can't have your Faerie on auto anymore. Art of War is ok to me, it feels better to spam than Miasma II to me. And we have less button bloat, meaning I like the number of buttons we have now. But I'm sure they could have solved that without deleting all DPS spells...

    Two things I want to add:
    Aetherflow is only usable in combat now. It's obvious to everybody that the reason for that change is that only the complaints of deeps jobs about "other jobs making me wait pre-pull, wuhhhh" got listened to, so we got punished for having the nerve to keep them waiting by playing the job the way it was designed. The job's design was not changed or anything, no cool solutions were introduced like NIN's Hide- we strictly only got punished and it feels terrible.
    Under-the-hood changes to formulae, notably most HP/damage increasing twice as much as usual but healing not scaling to match, was essentially a massive shadow nerf that got the privilege of not being documented in patch notes. SCH got it the worst from that, due to the fairy's weakness being further exacerbated as well as not being able to fall back onto a regen stance. It's funny to me that they added visible HP bar shielding at the same time as they made shielding significantly less satisfying to use...

    My apologies, I haven't touched scholar in over 2 years so I couldn't remember thst first point

    I actually forgot to bring up how Aetherflow could be used outside of combat back in STB. I updated the original post to add this as a small QOL change. Since AAST can draw before battle, i figure SCH should have the same treatment, especially because it would help with the lower levels by giving SCH access to more lustrates, soils, and ED/bane. thanks for the reminder, this should def be a QOL change that SCH should get.

    I'm no programmer but...
    I wonder at this point if I wouldn't like Seraph as fairy glamour and "Rouse" be back and enhance Eos/Selene, allowing to cast dictame, and chaging her embraces with some seraphic veil.

    Because that summon and vanishing animation are so weird and glitchy...
    You don't have it for 22s. You have it for 15-17 at best. I'm tired of this.
